As we've discussed before TfL are now consulting on extending the 382 from Mill Hill East to Milbrook Park. consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/bus-service-proposal-route-382The map shows how buses are being kept very much to the periphery of the development! The baby Darts will also have to flex their engines climbing part of Bittacy Hill. Cue lots of blown up engines.

No surprise there then! One thing I hate about these consultation responses is this phobia that some people have that a bus turning up automatically means anti social behaviour will also arrive. Also noteworthy that the local MP, Mr Dismore, who has ranted at Boris about the 382 for months and months didn't even bother to respond as he'd be listed as a stakeholder.

Totally agree. Anti-Social behaviour can occur with or without buses. I think there are points that TfL needs to address: - "Importance of accessible transport provision " - "Important to co-ordinate timetable with tube timetable at Mill Hill East" To that list I would add the coordination of timetables with 221 and 240 so that Southbound 382's arrive before the the 240 & 221. Another concern, Driver Toilets? Didn't get a mentioning anywhere. (I'm guessing having staff toilet at Southgate is suffice) We don't want another Forestdale I think with small proposals like this, there needs to be more advertising for the consulltation. Simple solution would be putting a scrolling message on the iBus of interest routes. I think this would go more noticed than yellow posters (especially seeing how most of the 382 is Hail & Ride!)

Same buses had no problems with the many hills on route 382 as it is. Nor when used on route 379.

I agree about the blown engines part but they will struggle - Darts are notorious for struggling with hills.

Never had a problem with any Euro3 Mini Pointer Dart when it came to hills, unless fully loaded.

Never had a problem with any Euro3 Mini Pointer Dart when it came to hills, unless fully loaded. Well Saltbox Hill fully loaded with school kids on the 464, the little MPDs do in 1st gear. Normally they will do it in 2nd. Well what do I expect when it does have a 15% gradient.
