Wouldn't the 24 keep its LTs for its next contract, regardless of the operator? The LTs will be 11-13 years old by the time the next contract starts, so they should be too old for another full contract. I suppose if TfL don't want to withdraw them before the 14-year mark they could start off the contract with existing LTs then replace them with newer LTs mid-contract (obviously this would depend on another LT route getting new buses). I wonder who will buy the LTs next?

I wonder who will buy the LTs next? I suspect TfL will continue using them until repairs get too expensive, even dismantling a few to provide parts for others. Ultimately I suspect it will be scrapyard that buys them, but probably not until 16-20 years old.
