T128 on the 250 was blinded for Croydon Town Centre despite being cut to West Croydon almost 3 years ago (seen yesterday) That happens regularly, drivers not wanting to do excessive blind turning.

Well that will end up with passengers being left at West Croydon when they might be going to the town centre instead

You get the odd one displaying “Croydon Town Centre” nowadays rather than the majority that displayed it on the first few days of the change.

Something happening regularly should really see a TfL Inspector sent to a stop on the route, to get it corrected, after few random visits, drivers will get message not to do it, especially if it gets them called into their manager for dereliction of duty that they are being paid for.

I agree completely, I know some will see it as a minor indiscretion and say drivers shouldn't have to manually wind blinds nowadays, but it's a matter of being professional and doing the job properly.

I find passengers don't read blinds they tend to look at the number and that's it.

I always consider the Town Centre to be the shopping centre, so by that definition West Croydon Bus Station is the start of the shopping centre, so not wrong in my eyes

I appreciate that but my point was that passengers tend to look at the number and ignore the destinations, seen many shocked passengers when buses terminated short of the usual destination! Used to happen lots on the 25 when it had a split City Thames Link / Oxford Circus service.

They were only lost in London with the withdrawal of the RMs. Technology means they can be re-instated. Reading has a most impressive policy with customer information. Some of their newer buses have number/destination displays on all four faces.

It was a full KM/NN display on the rear, changed via power blinds
