It doesn't mention how long the franchise will last for. If it's short term, then it won't improve too much, if it's long term, I expect an upgrade of existing fleets, as most are ageing. I think current passengers have become expectant of daily delays along these routes, particularly recently

At a guess that's to bring in the Stagecoach "magic touch" of improving fleet reliability and getting a robust timetable in place. It seems fairly clear that Stagecoach's expertise has been noticed in some recent franchise bids.

I think current passengers have become expectant of daily delays along these routes, particularly recently I highly doubt thus forthcoming contract is short-term, I imagine the contract franchise will last for around 7-10 years. A main feature of this new franchise will be to improve to NRW & LST to 90 minutes and I imagine replace LHCS currently operate on the GEML. It's interesting to see First re-emerge on the Anglia scene once more and the convergence of Abellio & Stagecoach.

I think current passengers have become expectant of daily delays along these routes, particularly recently I imagine the franchise term is specified in the ITT but may be subject to variation because of the scale of investment that is envisaged on the Anglia franchise. I think the DfT will want significant investment on extra tracks and new rolling stock - 4 tracks in the Lea Valley, faster trains to Stansted, Norwich in 90 etc. Politicians in East Anglia certainly want massive investment. There are also issues about infill electrification and more freight capacity in order to get freight off the North London Line / GOBLIN in the medium to long term.
