It seems that Tower Bridge will be closing next October 2016 for 3 months. This is in order to replace timber decking on the bascules (the part of the bridge that rises). Its a good thing the works are taking place next year after the Cycle Hire works.

The ring road and the CC zone boundary will have to move westwards - I assume to London Bridge.

It did say in the article that: "During previous closures of Tower Bridge special rules have been introduced to allow motorists to use London Bridge without becoming liable to pay the congestion charge.", so I assume it's business as usual in that section. Thus a barely marked route I assume will run to/via/from London Bridge that isn't charged.

I guess diverted via the 15 to Monument, then London Bridge and then along Tooley Street to Tower Bridge Road.

Also interested on pvr and capacity plans, particularly on the 42 on whether they'll be short workings, perhaps even with some double deckers*. * - southern Terminus of Camberwell Green, unless by then the Denmark Hill issue is cleared for deckers

The 42 and 78 for that matter will probably see PVR enhancements, possibly with a timing adjustment but that's normally done if the works are due to exceed 12 weeks, these are borderline 12 weeks so may well see some short term changes.
