Not much to post about really, They seem to love giving me 56 jobs, especially when I ask for a 48 or 215, Got a horrible (For me anyway) spread over on the 56 tomorrow and then I've been treated to the 48 and possibly a 215, Anyway here is a picture showing what it is like trying to get out of the garage at 6am scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtl1/v/t1.0-9/11986306_10203620186099975_3714818607067130232_n.jpg?oh=84402c20b01e19b3f80d546d7b5bec16&oe=56718BE015139 is the fastest Scania at Leyton that I've driven so far, was so nice and smooth but GreenRoad is a bit sensitive (Varies so much by each bus) 12141 is the slowest hybrid at Leyton that I've driven so far, limited out at around 40, Emission Warning Light was on and it didn't really want to rev high except under braking, you also had to brake quite hard to get it to stop which I liked as you could really easily provide smooth braking Judging by your pic, you was coming out of the garden, lol Worst part of [T] to get out of the morning run out. Bus possibly running in engine torque reduction mode, so it would reduced the torque by 40%. If the ad-blue injector is blocked up from the ad blue running low constantly and sucking up crap in the tank; it would not clear until the ad-blue injector is cleaned out. Worst thing about Euro5 imo is the engine retardation under these circumstances.

I'm a new driver, I don't take buses out of the garden This was right at the back of the yard near the paint booth. The garden is a right nightmare if you have a scania that is parked in the middle as you always have to come out first and you can't do it in one go as many people think they can and end up tail swiping other buses and accident reports have to be filled in... I've already seen 2 accidents like I mentioned happen and one of them was on my second day, luckily I've seen them but I haven't had one despite both times my allocated bus being the one that has been side swiped... We have all been told if we don't feel happy getting a bus out of a space go and seek assistance but luckily as of yet I've not needed any

Is "the garden" the side yard you can see from Leyton High Road which is emptyish during the day but stuffed full overnight?

You could have some great fun this week as schools start to go back. I wish you all the best of luck with the school kids.

Nope we have all been told if we aren't happy taking the bus out, they will happily move it out for us, I don't mind as I like the challenge but then again you know what some bus drivers are like

The last 2 days have just mostly been spent stuck in traffic not going anywhere and lost mileage, on Friday some contractors thought it would be a great idea to set up 3 way temp traffic lights on the Junction of Lower Clapton Rd/Downs Road at about 3pm just when everyone wants to get home, It took me 50 mins to get from Whipps Cross into Downs Road an that resulted in an Angel Turn, then after I left the stand 4 mins early I got to Angel Station 9 mins late!!! came of 20 late at bakers arms. Stagecoach London 12142 LX61 DDV Route 56 by David McKay, on Flickr Saturday I was on the better of the 2 city routes the 48, First 2 rounders were great, nice and quiet out, all went to pot after my break, there just seemed to be so much traffic everywhere, Hackney just wasn't moving due to people jumping the lights at Urswick Rd and then blocking the road for everyone who wanted to turn right, another 40 mins lost just trying to get though that, "Show Liverpool Street Driver" I did say I don't mind going bridge if you want but he came back with it's just taken another 48 20 mins to get across it so don't worry about it but thanks anyway. There are 3 ways you can turn at Liverpool Street, the most common is from Bishopsgate Turn right onto Wormwood St and Turn right onto Old Broad St then spin it round in the tight bus station that caught me out, First time I've had to reverse a bus after passing my test, then the same going back. The other ways you can go is from Bishopsgate Turn left onto Camomile St, Turn right onto St Mary Axe (Only if the road is clear (Very Narrow) ) then Right again then right back onto Bishopsgate (This wasn't possible as the road was closed yesterday) The Final way is to go up to Aldgate and do a loop Anyway here is the very fast 17810 at LST scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t31.0-8/11907848_10203642853466645_656046539747015155_o.jpg

Was on the 56 again yesterday and today, Yesterday was great, had a lovely duty, It all started in the garage where I went to see what bus I had on the run out sheet to find 'See GS' so I did "Take anything that is fit without a running number" *Hunts for TA's* The Bus I wanted was 18219 but unfortunately it was on the pits, after looking around I finally settled for 18209. The 04 plates have very slight differences to them but what is noticeable is the performance compared to the 03 plates (At Leyton anyway) This bus in particular loved to up shift as early as possible, When kickdown was used it would only rev to around 2000rpm instead of 2200+rpm that the 03 plates will give you, it rarely allowed you to do the 1-2-1 shuffle and there was quite a bit of black smoke every time it did. Another notable thing was the retarder seemed to be set up how it should be from factory by which I mean there was noticeable stages of retardation which allows for lovely smooth braking and finally the slam into first gear which is a common voith trident trait under braking was quite smooth. Something I really like about the Tridents is the air con is just perfect, it works in all of them and is relatively the same in every bus, I could literally go on and on about things I like about the TA's but I won't bore you, The rear door override button comes in handy Only thing that was bothering me was the wait to start light was taking about 20-30 seconds to go out for reasons unknown, normally they go off after about 5 seconds Today, everyone and everything seemed to be late including me, got caught in the M11 car park so was a few mins late getting to the garage, anyway take over my "on time" and then just due to excess traffic for unknown reasons just ran later and later, Came off my first half 15 late but what I didn't get was why the controller told me to hold back 2 mins when I had a perfect headway with the bus in front because after the 2 mins were up and I was checking my mirror before pulling away I happened to notice another 56 right behind me, Now I have a gap in front of and there is going to be a gap behind the second bus but I'm sure they know what they were doing as they can see the whole route As I had an almost 4 hour break (I love spreads...) I was going to watch Straight Outta Compton but I would have had to miss the ending to take over my second bus on time I settled for The Transporter Refueled which I'm sorry to say was a big disappointment compared to the previous films, It just wasn't the same, They tried to pull it off but it just didn't work, There was a strong sense of product placement which was a shame as I'm really getting fed up of seeing this, especially when shots are edited/Over-exaggerated to focus on the product clearly trying to be advertised, anyway, the storyline was poor, some of the fight scenes were poor, there were times where I really questioned if they even thought about what they were doing, there were sections of car chases that had been sped up to make it look more dramatic, This may have been acceptable when The Italian Job came out but it just looked really poorly thought out in this film, it didn't help the car they were using (Audi S8) was for a start an automatic and I know it has an electric handbrake so you can't do any of the handbrake turns, gear shifts that were shown in the film, along with the fact at one point there is a Peugeot 307 (Police Car) doing around 220kmh, I know it's a film but it's little things like this that ruin it, well for me anyway and I'm really not a film buff. Second half started well, my bus came in OOS, always much nicer taking a bus over without passengers, I made it to St Barts where I received instructions to leave late showing Bakers Arms, left with a perfect headway and maintained it, get to Angel and the MDT just dies (Really suprised at the amount of faults I've had with the iBus systems and ETM) Isolated and Restarted and it came back but then the ticket machine threw an Error code up, reset the bus again but made no difference, got told to carry on so I did, get to bakers arms a few mins off my card time, spin the bus around so it's facing towards St Barts and the days work is done Had 12135 which was by far the nicest hybrid I've driven, even the Air con worked (Air con working in an E400 is about as rare as a MCL on the 465)

Although they were faster. The best was 18249, that bus was boosting as though it was on nitros oxide. The wait to start light was for the glow plugs, they newer dash displays which went from amber to yellow warnings had the wait to start instead of the glow plug symbol. The exit door over ride never came from the factory like that, the buses were fitted like that when delivered new IIRC at garages. Saved time on breakdowns involving the exit door; so allowed the driver to still bring it back to the garage. It was also handy for using it to close the doors on slow moving exit doors and drive off.

I knew they were like it but you don't notice it as much unless you are driving, by comparison I had 17750 earlier and it was way faster, and all in all a better bus to drive despite the Yellow engine light flashing, 750 also has the only old set of blinds at Leyton which contains the 58 and East London Coaches display, didn't have time to go through what else was on the set but 275 is on their as an insert, The rear door override is fitted to the majority of tridents at T

Due to an accident on London Bridge which just happened as I was about to run light, I wasn't going to sit in the traffic so instead of spinning round in the station which was impossible anyway due to where the accident had happened I took a left onto Tooley St and then a left again onto Tower Bridge scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12004121_10203666194810164_6614544958660778820_n.jpg?oh=b0e4e40f1a20dfb41e128bc644cbdf4c&oe=566B554D then stopped to work out how I was going to get back to Leyton. As the title of this thread "Don't do it" the last few days due to crazy amounts of traffic on Lea Bridge Road/Clapton pond all caused by the A406/M11 roadworks, I've not really enjoyed it, people take far to many chances with a bus especially when they aren't in the best of moods, even using the bus lane at a snails pace I've had to slam the brakes on due to cars deciding they are going to queue jump without even checking their mirror which has caused a few incidents with other buses, luckily I've not been involved in an accident yet and hopefully it stays that way

The scariest one i had was running light going round a bend and suddenly seeing a van coming towards me on my side of the road. I tooted and at the last minute pulled the wheel to the other side of the road. The van carried on and hit my rear end swing, if i didnt pull the wheel i imagine he would have made a big dent in the front!! You may find already that you can sometimes anticipate a situation before it happens as in someone elses stupid driving. As for Euro 3 TAs it seems common for the amber engine management light to go on and off or stay fully illuminated. if it stays fully illuminated i put it on the BCR card
