As we have experts on every aspect of London buses on this forum I thought I'd ask a stupid question. On Wright Gemini 2 bodies are the staircases the same size between batches of, say, Volvo B9TLs or between different chassis types (VDL or Volvos). When I say "size" I mean width of the stairs, step height and the steepness of the climb.
The reason for asking is that I travelled on a Tower Transit VN on the 266 the other day and found the staircase ridiculously cramped and steep when descending. I don't normally have quite that much of a struggle despite being a fat lump and hating the TfL handrail design.

I can't answer directly regarding the Gemini's but I have driven the Volvo and trident version of the plaxton presidents. The trident version had smaller cab space, perhaps suggesting that the staircase is slightly different dimensions to the Volvo version. I'm guessing with the Gemini's the staircase dimensions may be im conjunction to the cab dimensions between Volvo and VDL.
