Today more Thameslink services to/from Bedford are running via London Bridge High Level, under 1T/2T headcodes as Route knowledge steps up for the May timetable change & new diagrams for Peterborough & Cambridge Drivers go and sign from St Pancras down to Horsham via Three Bridges and The latter down to BTN. A Brighton diagram has been formiulated to pass up from BTN to STP and up eventually via CBG with a detour route learning up/down Hertford Loop through to Stevenage.

Today a few Thameslink services have started to call at London Bridge platforms 4 & 5 these are Set Down Only at the moment, they are not advertised on departure boards, but the trains PIS are advertising it as a call, look on realtimetrains.co.uk for which services are calling there. Once all staff training is complete (Platform/Driver) then all services will call at London Bridge.

Presumably there are only down escalators working at London Bridge P4 and 5 to prevent people trying to board trains? I assume lifts are under staff control or else people could reach the platfomrs. I know it's a big job to get all the drivers familiar with the revised route and signals via LB but I'd have thought that they could start to advertise a few trains as both picking up and setting down by now even if the frequency was pretty low. I understand the first service trains from Finsbury Park into Thameslink should materialise a few weeks before the formal May timetable change.

I understand the first service trains from Finsbury Park into Thameslink should materialise a few weeks before the formal May timetable change. The escalators are going both up/down, lifts are working normally as well. At the moment its only 16 train per day each way running via London Bridge with more added on soon It won't be an advertised until all drivers have done there route learning via LBG high level platforms the reason it isn't advertised is to avoid a PPM failure if have driver who hasn't learned the route yet and can run under the 1W/2W headcodes, also regarding the first service via Finsbury Park this should start once a good number of Great Northern Drivers have done there route learning via the Canal Tunnels but will defiantly happen before May. Also 700 testing of the Rainham via Greenwich services will start soon and you will see a lot more Thameslink, Great Northern, Southeastern (who do the Sevenoaks/Orpington via Catford services) & Southern (Horsham drivers whom will be transferring to TL in May) route learning more routes.

Thameslink are restarting to call at London Bridge this week, albeit as unadvertised ghost trains until the official start of the May timetable.
Thameslink platforms 4+5 are now open but with no advertised services with "platform closed" on the PIS screens and signs at the escalators stating no trains (officially) until May.
Amazingly I wasn't approached by station staff/BTP/security for standing solitary on the lone island platform but I did get some strange looks from the normals on the opposite Southeastern platforms.

Have to say Thameslink to London Bridge from Finsbury Park takes between 25-30 mins so not exactly a cracking pace! Faster but less convenient to take the tube. The other interesting thing is that some of them also stop at New Cross Gate and Norwood Junction. I'm used to T/Link running non stop to East Croydon from London Bridge. Unfortunately it's not quite possible to take the first s/b train to L Bridge and then catch the first n/b train back again to Finsbury Park. In theory there is a tiny overlap when the trains should be in P4 and 5 respectively at London Bridge but I wouldn't want to bank on being able to get off one and get on the other one.

It’s also appeared in Journey Planners, once the full service is up and running journey times between Blackfriars and St Pancras should drop to 8 minutes with a journey time as little as 21 minutes to Finsbury Park, at this present time services have a lot of padding at these stations in the core. A lot of passengers have made complaints about the removal of direct trains from New Cross Gate to Gatwick Airport which has a good amount of passengers boarding/alighting throughout the day, hopefully they keep the New Cross Gate stop or allow one of the Southern fast services to stop to allow faster and easier interchange at East Croydon

On a less important note the Passengers Information Displays within the 700s appear to have received an update:
There is a slide for which carriage you are in and how many carriages the train is formed of (your carriage is highlighted in white all other carriages in black)
The toilet and seat availability screens now show in small text which carriage of how many you are in (eg. You are Here - 5 of 8)
The time has been putnin larger text with a black background, white text
*There is an eye catching image used for the See it Say it Sorted announcement (*although i havent been on 700 before when this announcement is made so the image may of been existing)
(tried to be as descriptive as possible as i couldnt get a pic on the packed train)

Even by Southern’s poor standards, today looks like it’s been carnage on the network, judging by the pics I’ve seen at Redhill. Who was operating the replacement bus service, or lack of one?

Looks like the first two trains through the Canal Tunnels have got through successfully complete with cup cakes for the lucky passengers. I had hoped to make it but couldn't in the end.

There are two more planned from the north leaving Finsbury Park at 14:29 to Horsham and 15:11 to brighton. I know the novelty isn’t there being on the first trains but for reference.
