Not long after closing the consultation on the Silvertown tunnel TfL have now brought plans for new river crossings with a lot of focus on Gallions Reach and Belvedere in East London. In addition to bus links TfL are "dangling the carrot" of potential DLR and tram extensions on these new crossings.

Must say I'm a bit sceptical that there is no great context [1] for DLR or tram routes on these crossings and they look like "sweeteners" in order to get new car and lorry crossings in East London.
[1] where is the wider plan for DLR and tram development in East London? Where would the new routes go? How will they be financed?
