You could test with the 49 Also, I don't know if this has been considered already but a nice feature to have would be push notifications for user-defined workings? For example, a notification if a 15-reg appears on the 172 or if 2473 appears on the C3.

PROGRESS UPDATE:At long last, I finally have a suitable test app to show! Click here to download the installation file. Please note:- Before you attempt to install the file, make sure you have 'Unknown sources' enabled in your Security settings. This option is typically found in Settings > Security. You phone will prompt if this is turned off. - This app works with Android devices running version 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and above. I will lower the minimum requirement to version 4.0 at a later date. - As I've mentioned before, the database is still far from complete. Over the week I've added these batches: - WVL1-30, 274-302, 350-357, 386-412 - E94-99, 202-209, 224-228, 246-280 - EH1-38 - VWL3, 6, 9-44 - Ex-133 WVLs still in service - LDP273-280 - PVL319-325, 343-355 - 2400-2421 - 9830-9843 - 13001-13032 - VWH2001-2010 - Please take note of the current features that work so far: - View local bus stops in map view. (Location services need to be enabled. See Settings > Location) - Search bus routes or bus stops (only by 5 digit code e.g. 55244) - View list of buses on a route. Currently shown in chronological order - View bus registrations (more fleet codes will appear as the database is updated)
- Features coming soon: - Pull to refresh on all screens - Ability to search vehicles by registration or fleet code - Ability to view search history - Notifications for rare workings by request of fg49 . Although don't expect this any time soon. - Fixes to various bugs that may come!
Final note:I realise it's late (or rather early) so I will repost this in the morning/afternoon. I'm hoping this will be the first thing people will see. I'll try to get round to updating the database some more (I'll finish off the buses at NX first, then move on to QB buses). Thanks! Nathan

In case any one missed it, my previous post has a link to the installation file of the app.
Please tell me what you guys think of the app so far, and tell me if there are any bugs or crashes. Thanks!

Has anyone actually tested the app yet? I would like to, but I don't have anything running Android. Maybe I could get some sort of emulator to work.

Has anyone actually tested the app yet? I played around with it, the interface could be improved, I think. It's a bit hard understanding what bus is going where when you search for a route. It's promising, however, I look forward to the complete project.

It's promising, however, I look forward to the complete project. Yes, the app still has a long way to go. I was thinking that I should add a filter to sort the buses by destination to make it easier to read. In the meantime, feel free to take a gander at the (slightly) improved look I'm working on Bus Stop Screen

Has anyone actually tested the app yet? Can't until you provide one for IOS lol. I know it's on IOS (unsure if it's on Android) but did you manage to check out 'London Bus Checker' - it's got very good graphics and it's probably the nearest thing out there to your own WIP (Work in Progress) minus a few things.

I remembered you mentioned that a while back, so I decided to have a look at it myself (there's an Android version). It's actually pretty cool. I like how they've managed to add a little scroll bar when you're viewing a route. What I don't like is how the map takes up the most room on the screen. Although this does make sense in a way...

Can't believe the last post way back in April Bet you guys thought I forgot about this app PROGRESS UPDATE:So after I finished uni I took a couple of months break off working on the app. I started coding again just over a month ago. Even though I've had less time to work on in due to other commitments, I've actually been able to produce quite a fair bit. I'm also pretty close to adding a feature that will actually help you hunt buses down. I'll do this by Below is an album of the progress made since the beginning if anyone is interested. I've uploaded a few more pictures/videos to show off the slightly new (blue themed) UI and the new Route screen that allows you to view a list of bus stops on the route as well as vehicles running on the route. Feel free to tell me what you guys think! So I have been busy (and maybe procrastinating) on this app in the background for some time now. I've added quite a few features and changed things around a bit since my last update. There are still a few known bugs (as there is with any software) but hopefully you guys will be able to help me out a but more I've finally released the app! Google Play Store link: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.NathanOdong.londonbushunterIt may seem to lack some features, but I have many more things planned down the road. But please feel free to leave a review! Please note there are still LOADS of vehicles missing from the database.

Lockdown has allowed me to pretty much rewrite the app from the bottom up thanks to all the free time I've had. Now it's faster, cleaner, and has some added functionality you might be familiar with. Note I've had to re-publish the app so the link below is different to the previous link I've sent before. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nathanodong.london_bus_hunterChanges include: - New vehicle and route history available! - Bus stop disruption warning if it's closed - Added sorting of vehicles in search results by fleet code numerically - Added sorting of vehicles in route screen by fleet code numerically - Messages added to local bus stop and route bus stop lists when no results are found - Quite a few UI changes and background changes to speed up loading Check it out! EDIT: Here's a bonus video showcasing the app

EDIT: Here's a bonus video showcasing the app No chance of a IOS app anytime soon? That was in the pipeline until I found out that developers have to pay £99 per year to release apps into the App Store so...yeah... I have thought about bringing a mobile web app version to the masses instead that you could use in a browser. So watch this space!
