Route 64 used to work as follows in the peaks M-F Tooting Broadway-West Croydon / West Croydon -Addington (featherbed Lane) and through journeys Tooting Broadway -Addington (featherbed Lane) Route 115 used to run Wallington - Purley and Streatham (St Leonards Church) - Whyteleafe during the peaks There were many others in late 70's early 80's which I believe catered for the benefit of all in the event of serious traffic or RTA

I think the 25 would benifit from running in overlapping sections say Ilford-Aldgate & Stratford-Oxford Circus with end to end running evenings & Sundays. If that route was to be overlapped, I would run the Stratford buses to at least Forest Gate. Romford Road needs this very frequent service provided by the 25 and 86, so cannot be reduced.

Not sure how suitable that Finden Road stand is for scheduled all day use. It can also only take two buses (in practice at a squeeze) which is going to be a struggle with a (say) 6 minute sectional headway. The 58 also uses it for curtailments, especially on WHU home days / Saturdays or any other day of the week when Green Street decides to jam solid. Romford Road does need pretty much all the resource currently thrown at it, though. I had an idea to sectionalise the 25 with a fairly heavy reduction at the Ilford end but with a corresponding increase on the 86 to, say, Goodmayes, and alternate buses on to Romford. But I realised it all looked like more trouble than it was worth. Crossrail will have a big impact on that entire corridor once it is opened so now probably isn't the time to start mucking around with things too much. I don't think the route user experience is going to be any better for all of the fiddling around potential along the A11/A118 - there is enough to deal with along there as it is for the next few years. Things do work for now, if often by a thread.

It's used a lot by the 86 too, and the odd 330 goes round there as well. Was a right result once actually, my other half and I were at the Green Street bus stop, middle of the rush hour heading towards Ilford, and we managed to get an empty 86 ex Finden Road with only about four other people waiting at the stop - wish all rush hours were like this!

When Route 73 had the bendy buses, ran into 2 sections. From Victoria to Stoke Newington (the one that was retained) and from Victoria to Seven Sisters (the one that was withdrawn).

The 73 didn't so much run in sections but more that during morning peak it didn't run between Stoke Newington and seven sisters. Outside the morning peak pretty much all journies ran end to end.
The 73 have an usual timetable in the RM days where there were peak short workings from Victoria and Oxford circus and Tottenham CT Rd and Stoke newington/tottenham meaning a small part in the middle only had the full route.

I thought it was more the other way - in the morning you would have more buses running out from AR down to Vic with some returning back to AR and others to stoke to maintain the stoke-vic section through the day with more buses running from AR down to Vic (or TCR) again in the afternoon (some returning only as far as Stoke) ready for the evening rush.... A typical example of this is a duty card I have (Mon-Fri Duty 60) dated 05/11/01 Run No.21 trip 248 Leave AR (Garage) 11:47 - Vic 13:07 Run No.21 trip 247 Leave Vic 13:15 - AR (Garage) 14:37 Break Run No.33 trip 356 leave AR (Garage) 15:41 - Vic 17:01 Run No.33 trip 357 leave Vic 17:10 - Stoke Newington 18:25 Run No.33 trip 452 leave Stoke Newington 18:40 - Vic 19:37 Run No.33 trip 451 Leave Vic 19:46 - AR (town hall stand) 20:45 ![](http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr71/rm5chris/SCAN%2043_zpsj7zot4yj.jpg)
