The Piccadilly Line is part suspended due to a truly gob smacking fault. At Hyde Park Corner Station I asked a member of staff why and apparently this is due to the train doors randomly opening while the train was in the tunnel! This had happened on five different trains therefore most of the line is shut to investigate this problem, I was also advised that the investigation may take a few days. Thankfully there were no casualties.

Hope they get to the bottom of it quickly. Safety first.

Is this an open and shut case of false economies being made on maintenance

Is this an open and shut case of false economies being made on maintenance Let's wait and see what the investigation says first rather than guessing.

Wasn't there a fault at Heathrow Terminal 4 on Saturday where doors opened on the move?

Wasn't there a fault at Heathrow Terminal 4 on Saturday where doors opened on the move? that is correct until the fleet is checked both ASLEF & RMT T/Ops are refusing to bring trains into service. The incident happened at 0530 sat morning imagine if that had happened on Monday morning middle of the peak

It's back to normal now so presumably they investigated the problem, I wonder what it was.
