My guess is anyone who did them when they were with Metrobus would be amazed if they were to do them now. Some of the Metrobus drivers at Orpington Station have told me about some of the near misses (and in some cases the full on hits!) they had when doing the route and the overwhelming factor in those incidents was lack of time. When I do them now I don't feel under any pressure to get around quickly because I know that time pressure isn't there. It's not quite a relaxing drive around the countryside but it's still far more pleasant than a 208! Yes it was like whacky races and pretty much impossible to keep to time. I think the R7 will be quite a nice route from Chislehurst to Chelsfield, and definitely better than a 208. Doubt I'll get it though as I haven't been there a hundred years lol There should at least be 1 fixed toilet on the route that is available at any time a driver is out early AM for example. Even on routes with toilets at 1 end if you are at the other end and need to go then you run light to the nearest facility, after all its a human right! [EDIT] In front of the disabled bays is a loading bay i recon that will get taken

Not long before change around in Orpington Area. I see no notes up or new timetables yet at any bus stops. I am sure next weeks or so, will be shock to all local people in orpington to find out some bus routes cut on the section or some bus routes gain more buses or new sunday etc!

Won't be a shock to those on the R7; they've been looking forward to their half hour service and Sunday service for months now!

We're going to make you take two buses and force you to cross a busy main road in order to change between those two buses and make sure you get home later from work...... Yeah, my wife and I aren't impressed by the withdrawal from Tesco of the R11 either. I maintain it's an important link that could have remained with a small extension to the R1. It is simply bonkers that there is no direct link to the nearest large supermarket from St Paul's Cray

Even then, it could serve both Grovelands & Tesco without too much hassle.

We're improving them by taking them away from people.

The Countdown web page map has been updated for the Orpington changes, the R7 looks very long now! It also claims that the R2 and R3 no longer serve Petts Wood and Chelsfield respectively, although they will continue to run there for a week. The Foots Cray double run has also been emitted for the R11. The stop list for these routes haven't been updated yet.
From 1st April onwards, the R7 has been updated on journey p;anner so that it is the bus to Chelsfield that runs all the way to Chislehurst. It seems that the estimated journey time between the two is 45 minutes and the first bus from Chelsfield is at 6:13. I don't have time to check for Chislehurst, that's up to you for experimenting!

It was a terrible idea to cut the R11 from Foots Cray Tesco, fair enough the 321 is enough for Sidcup. What they have overlooked is people from St Paul's Cray, St Mary Cray and Orpington work there.
