Anyone ridden all the changed routes (R1, R2, R3, R7, R11) etc. What are your thoughts? What's ridership like on the shortened R2, th of R3 and R7 now? Cheers if you have any insight. I find it very interesting, especially the high PVR of the R11 - but I don't get down to Orpington very often

The R2 is still lightly used - 5 passengers on board and 3 of us were enthusiasts whilst the R3 had some decent patronage between Orpington & Petts Wood - after that, it was quite dead. I plan to do the R1 & R7 in the next few months

The R7 extension to Chislehurst seems fairly quiet although I expect loadings will increase in due course. The R3 seems to be managing ok in the Poverest Road area without the R2 which seems as dead as ever on the Biggin Hill section. I suspect a few people have missed the link to Foots Cray Tesco?

I've yet to do R11 minus Tesco, but done R7 - 3 men took the opportunity to take the bus to the Sainsbury's at Chislehurst Station. And of course virtually everyone who did the revamped R7 reported people getting it in the wrong direction - I had it too. This lady might've as well stayed on the Chelsfield loop as She got the same bus on the way back

I suspect a few people have missed the link to Foots Cray Tesco? My wife certainly does. Some fool didn't bother arranging times so there is enough time to interchange between a 321 and an R11 at Crittals Corner. The timetable suggests a two minute gap but when the 321 dawdles away from Tesco and the R11 is flying through a couple of minutes early, making the connection is nigh on impossible. She usually ends up waiting 10-15 minutes for a 51 and walking - not so bad at this time of year but a bloody nuisance and not entirely safe come winter time. She is now getting home 20-30 minutes later than she was before the change. But hey, every journey matters, right TfL?

Both routes are high frequency blah blah blah Our surveys showed hardly anyone used the R11 to / from Tesco blah blah blah Hopper ticket blah blah blah We never bother to make sure buses connect properly blah blah blah We have a contractual regime designed to make sure buses never ever wait for each other at stops blah blah blah People interchange between buses blah blah blah "Every Journey Matters"

All we would get back is basically what you've written. It's just immensely frustrating that one of the reasons TfL gave for withdrawing the R11 from Tesco was that it was still served by the 321 and connections could be made. So why did they then not ensure that, particularly at night, those connections could be made quickly and simply? She relies on the bus to get home because she doesn't drive and I (or her mother when I'm on lates) have to be at home looking after our little girl who is tucked up in bed fast asleep when she finishes work. We won't be bothering with the bus when our little girl is older - I'll just drive. Congratulations TfL - someone else you've driven into the car........ I realise this is a fruitless rant but it's nice to get it off my chest anyway

Presumably because of stand space as the last time I was there, there were plenty of 321's blocking the bus stop.

Possibly and there is also the issue of access for delivery vehicles although we are only talking about one 8.9m bus every 20 minutes.

I'm still annoyed about the R11 being cut from Tesco. It's so short sighted to not even replace the missing connection.

I think what confuses people is that it seems to stop on both side of the road at Orpington War Memorial no matter what direction it goes.

The "not very exciting" consultation about provision of fixed stops on the R2's Biggin Hill loop has vanished from the TfL consultation site. This probably means it's in the process of being updated with the results of the consultation and should re-appear later today.
No sign yet of other pending results (5, 271, 178, 289/455, 298, 112) being updated or anything new being added.

If that consultation gets the green light, it would mean the only half hail & ride section half fixed stop section in London ceasing to exist (part of Kings Road & Norheads Lane has this arrangement).
