I see the latest TLB is saying the 372 will be rerouted in the vicinity of Lakeside. Instead of running along the top edge of Lakeside on the W Thurrock arterial road and then dipping down from the roundabout and entering from the east it will turn off just after the A282 / M25 junction and head south on West Thurrock Way and then turn off and run past Tesco Extra on Cygnet View and use a new link road to arrive at the bus station from the west. I must have missed the TfL consultation about that change. I expect it may not be popular as those two stops on the arterial road are well used - every time I've used the 372 it's either picked up or set down up there. It's not clear if the new route will have any stops on it or not. I imagine a stop by Tesco Extra would be popular.

There didn't seem to be a bus stop by Tesco when I recently used the X80 down that slip road. That retail park next to Lakeside is dreadfully aimed at car use only. Pedestrians have to clamber down muddy banks or walk miles around car parks just to reach the main road for a bus stop with no shelter.

When I went to Tesco at Lakeside, I got off at the stop 'Essex Arena' and could find no way of reaching the Tesco. I had to climb down a muddy hill bank to reach the Tesco car park!!!!

Dont know if its still there though:-)

Dont know if its still there though:-) It shows up in Traveline SE times and maps and having gone back and really looked on Streetview there is a shelter still there. If the 372 was to stop there then I expect it would be well used. However there is a mandatory left turn on leaving the stop which would stop buses running *to* Lakeside from using it unless there is a highway modification.

I think it uses the on-site stop you mention.

The stop at Tesco is still in use and can be found opposite the petrol garage.
Personally think it's a brilliant move and expected either the 372 or 370 to go that way. Currently no route serves the Retail Park directly. Ensigns 22 comes close by passing Ikea but nothing other than that.
Also you'll find alot of people use that stop to reach the retail park, so again a brilliant move.
As a Thurrock resident if you want the retail park then you need to drive or be very mobile. This way as long as you can get to the shopping centre you can now reach the retail park with no car

Is it planned for the 372 to stop there?

Might see if I can ask someone at WH next week as it could be a route I work on soon

That's the plan fella. As long as I can get past the test I will lol. Have to admit, the ZF Tridents are dogs to drive, great to learn in but feel stiff and not great. Anyway might have a nose about see if anyone knows anything or maybe see if we can do a drive down to RM and ask the garage
