Just a little REMINDER that we have a look back at Top of the Pops 1982 and 1982's hits at 2200 and 2300 TONIGHT on BBC4

Episodes from Jan 1982 start from next Thursday and there's marginally less risk of them being Yewtreed as Savile was elbowed out and more DJs were presenting so DLT showed up less frequently.

Some great tracks there - obviously Hungry Like the Wolf but also Driving in my Car by Madness (only ska artist I sort of like), Golden Brown which is about drugs if I remember right, A Town called Malice from Billy Elliot & Fifa 2003, The Look of Love, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me & that old favourite from Musical Youth

Speaking of 'Only You' by Yazoo, I properly heard that the other day for the first time since the 90's when I was growing up as loads of great 80's tracks would regularly appear on TV & radio - Alison Moyet is a really good singer.

Also loved the debut of Ebony and Ivory by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, but that was a little later on in 1982...as i believe was " Tottenham Tottenham!!" sung by Chas and Dave.

I almost felt 1* years old again.

Last night's (Thursday) was also pretty decent as John Peel was introducing it (simply brilliant) and it had Kraftwerk at no 1, Soft Cell (Say Hello, Wave Goodbye), OMD, Theatre of Hate, Jets, Christopher Cross, Meatloaf, XTC and George Benson (being massacred by dance group Zoo).
