Just a thought, has anyone witnessed tailstrike on the Gemini/MMC B5LHs by any chance? The other day I was watching one going through a slightly raised junction, the rear overhang of the B5LH looked very close to touching the ground behind it as there was no discernible light shining through between the rear and the ground. Although I've been on a few B5LHs over humps at speed I never witnessed such an event, which is good. Yes the tail swing and rear overhang is quite big on theses, I've been on a HV that's grounded out on a speed bump and it wasn't very nice, it is slightly raised so it's not really common for it to happen, the main incidents involved with theses are pulling out on full lock and hitting street furniture/other vehicles with the tail swing, also a problem with scania omnicities Never knew tail swing would be an issue as well! Thinking of it the DD/SD Omnicities and MAN MCV SDs also have big rear overhangs, I guess these need to be driven with a bit more care in comparison to other types. These issues would be erradicated if the rear axle on the B5LHs are positioned slightly backwards, relocating obstructing components elsewhere within the chassis.

Ah right, the 6 and 98 would indeed make more sense due to them running within the ULEZ. That's great news then, hopefully another completely new bus to experience on my 6 very soon TfL have just tweeted in the London Travelwatch Twitter chat that the electric DD buses will be on route 98 later this year. Great news! Sort of. Thanks for the update.

My original post should have definitely ended up in the fantasy routes thread judging by the amount of negative responses! I think you could reroute the 22 to Kingston replacing the 85 and extend the 414 to Putney Common although I'm not sure how much demand there would be for such a service? Or instead of the 24 Hour 85 the N85 could be extended to Hammersmith, providing a new and unique night link between Hammersmith and Kingston. The only downside is that Fulham Palace Road would be overbussed at night.

:DLooks like TFL addressed this issue very quickly No they didn't - wrong map. Your map is New Addington. The error is on Addington Village. Ah yes, wrong map indeed! Well I suppose TFL can be forgiven a tiny bit for spelling it right in the New Addington map

I just got off PVL159 on the 36. I've nicknamed it "The Old Pair of Shoes PVL". Because it's as comfortable as. It seems to be in really nice condition for an unrefurbished X reg bus. These buses that somehow escape change are becoming more and more like time capsules evey year. Though I still don't care for those yellow handles on the seats. The dark grey ones looked much nicer. EDIT: Here's the photo I took. Sorry for the quality. If I told you this photo was taken in 2006 and blanked out the registration, you probably wouldn't know the difference! If anyone's looking to preserve an X reg PVL, look no further. It's indeed taken well care of and looks very young for its age, same also for the PVL152. When they both pop up on the 36 I'm always delighted to ride them, especially knowing the fact that they're rarities

Is there a specific reason why the WHVs have so many windows on the upper deck? (Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but just noticed this recently) That's a good question, I sometimes wonder that too. I assume it's to match the dimensions of the lower deck windows hence many upper deck windows, probably down to the B5LH chassis. This is the reason why I prefer the B5TL version, it looks much more symmetrical and appealing. Quite why Wright just don't fit longer windows rather than smaller ones is a mystery

It's good to see the 129 gaining an extension, however personally I would've extended the 129 to Forest Gate via Manor Road - West Ham Lane - Stratford - Romford Road - Woodgrange Road. This would provide an alternative to the 108 between Stratford and North Greenwich, and provide Forest Gate with a connection to NG and Greenwich.
The 472 or 486 (or both) also seem like ideal candidates to gain an extension to Canary Wharf, opening up several new links towards the south east. Although I anticipate both routes being immensely busy as a result, especially considering the 472's already high frequency.

I was told they would be dual door unless someone was pulling my leg. Dual door LT's?! Thats news to me! Someone must be pulling your leg unless its E400H Cities on order. If they were to do Dual Door LT's, they would probably go on suburban routes, like the 60 or 466. Hopefully such a monstrosity will not be produced! It has 'pointless' written all over it

The 91s LTs will be dual door. The new base in Kings Cross is apparently ready and has been ss for a while. Is this actually confirmed? Strange why the 91 only gains dual door LTs, all the more reason for a dual door LT to be untrue. It states on London Bus Routes that the 91 will gain 'New Bus for London hybrid double deckers' by Feb 2016, so perhaps just conventional LTs or Enviro400H Cities as Volvo mentioned?

This certainly brings back memories! I remember when I was little living in Baker Street I would regularly see them on the A2 I would always promise myself to get on them one day but that never happened I think First in Devon and/or Cornwall have a couple knocking around but I stand to be corrected I remember the RHs LU had too, on various routes such as the 281 and latterly the 406/418 and 411. I was lucky enough to catch one on a 285 extra during the tube strike. I have vague memories of seeing a few NVs on the 343 I think it was (was around Southwark/City Hall area) around 2005, soon before the route was lost to Travel London. Never managed to catch one but would like to. Ah I just remembered, NX had a few examples which popped up on the 36 occasionally for some time. I used to get on them when I moved from Baker Street although It's a very vague memory. A couple of things I remember was I used to get excited when I'd see one on the 36 as I wasn't fond of the RMs, and that deep and smooth engine sound, similarly with the NV Olympians which would pop up on the route too.

Yeah, I definitely don't remember London Central/General having any Alexander R buses. One would probably look pretty good in their livery though. Hopefully this may jog one's memory.
