I note that the latest London Service Permit contains two more services, this time under contract, for Chariot. This time the services are in the Stockley Park area with a peak time shuttle to / from Hayes and Harlington and a lunchtime service to / from Uxbridge. Shows what Easit Stockley Park (the contracting party) think of TfL's bus services! Consultation links below. Stockley Park shuttleUxbridge serviceDon't bus route U5 already cover it between Stockley Park and Hayes & Harlington Station? Was peaks hour sercive problem?

Stockley Park shuttleUxbridge serviceDon't bus route U5 already cover it between Stockley Park and Hayes & Harlington Station? Was peaks hour sercive problem? Clearly both the 350 and U5 links Hayes with Stockley Park but seemingly the service is not deemed good enough if a private firm is prepared to fork out for a dedicated shuttle bus. It is not the first case - look at the Here East shuttle in the Olympic Park. There is the 388 bus but that was clearly deemed not good enough either. In the case of Here East their funding of a shuttle bus has allowed TfL not to bother extending the 241 as intended. I suspect we will see a lot more of this as TfL make their bus network vastly worse and they don't have the resources to respond to the expectations of businesses and others. In some cases it may even give TfL the basis to cut their own services if someone else is prepared to fund services. Doesn't do anything for traffic congestion either given the use of small minibus vehicles. Yet another consequence of new technology, changing expectations and the lack of money and strategy from TfL.

Stockley Park shuttleUxbridge serviceOf course, when applied for and granted there was an assumption about Crossrail's coming to Hayes (or, for the near future, a connection with the new line at Paddington.) With regard to Uxbridge, I guess at lunchtime you want an immediate bus, not hanging around inordinately, even if it's in the firm's time as it were.

Are there any chariot services or depots near or in West Dulwich, just seen one of their 67 reg vans turning left fron Croxted Road To South Circular Road eastbound I know the area pretty well, and I can't see there being much scope for such a route, even though it would have been useful for me at times in the past. Dulwich is a most individual place, or should I say places. As well as the actual Dulwich Village, there are really a series of 'villages' which have no inter-connection whatever. My sister, a resident of Croxted Road for twenty odd years, had never ventured to East Dulwich before Sainsbury's opened, Where else in London but Dulwich could you come across a private toll road?d
