At least this artist image is reflective of people in the area, unlike the one at Victoria station forecourt.

Are these station upgrades (+Ilford) late or additions to the Crossrail upgrade? I know Manor Park was finished some time ago. If any station needs a upgrade I'd say Maryland looks very dated. Additional entrances at Ilford and Romford are subsequent to the initial project I believe. Maryland's upgrade was completed last year (see below) and looks noticeably better than 'One' railway days. - source Wikimedia Commons I went passed on Saturday and didn't even noticed it had been done! Still looked pretty bleak IMO.

Has been reported that dozens of class 345 vehicles are parked in sidings at Worksop, due to insufficient spare stabling sidings in London area Aventras seemed to be parked everywhere. Class 345s due to 9 car not being able to do any lines yet. 710s that are built but not yet in service. Now the Greater Anglia Class 720s are starting to materialize rapidly along with Class 745/55 which some are still stabled. There really isn't enough space to stable anymore new trains, something needs to be done to start rolling out the new stock because Ilford won't be big enough to store the Class 345, 720 and a 710 for R-U without getting rid of the old stock. Hopefully 9 car trains get approval to do LLS>Shenfield soon which will create some room for 345s at Ilford because the 315s will be gone. I notice most of the Class 755s are now in service and the Class 745s are starting to be rolled out which means the Stanstead 378s will soon leave Ilford and the route will be run by Class 745s from Norwich which will clear some space for deliveries, I guess.

Isn't the reason the 345's cannot go 9 car on the eastern section because they need to be diverted to Liverpool Street Elizabeth Line platforms first so that works can take place on the existing National Rail platforms to extend the platforms there so that they can take a full length 345 for peak hour extras, while also removing one platform in the process?

According to the station progress video on Liverpool Street this month on the Crossrail YouTube channel, it is now reaching "substantial completion with major works now concluding" and now the main focus is on obtaining the complex and assurance certification. Services through Central London are expected to start in the Summer of 2021, and Liverpool Street looks like it will be complete and open by then.

Geoff Marshall has done a video where’s there’s an anomaly in the peak contactless fare to and from Reading where you could save more than £10 by getting off at Slough and touching out and then back into the station. Of course this means having to get off the train and catching the next one. youtu.be/ljN3xRWAkCE

I didn't realised how expensive it was to travel to Reading! I had always planned to ride the whole line when it opens - Maybe not now!

No thanks, I’ve done plenty of that when I used to work there for a few years
