I attach the timetable from Ian Armstrongs brilliant bus page, and it shows the time being just over 2HOURS!! Attachment Deleted

The 21 from Moorgate to West Kingsdown via London Bridge, Lewisham, Eltham, Sidcup and Swanley has to be up there.

The 35 from Clapham Common to Chingford was a long one - nowadays it involves taking a 35, 55 & 97 although the original routing was different in places.

The 12 from South Croydon to Harlesden must be on the list somewhere They were terminals, but never connected as a single journey. On weekdays the 12 had two overlapping sections, Harlesden to Dulwich 'Plough' and Oxford Circus to Sth Croydon/Elmers End garages. On Sundays when the 12 was cut back to Shepherds Bush, the 49 was extended from Shepherds Bush to Harlesden

726 I reckon must be a contender. This is x26’s daddy. He’s retired now but the 726 used to work between Heathrow Airport to Dartford. Seriously long.
I would have loved to have ridden the old 38 which ran from Victoria to Epping Forest.
@johntuthill 2 hours from Croydon to Hendon sounds crazy!!

Someone may correct me if I’m wrong but it may have gone to Windsor on the western end and Gravesend on the eastern end

The x26’s Grandad was Greenline 726. He was a legendary beast that ran from Windsor to Gravesend. Greenline routes ran a bit further than TfL routes back then, so not sure if it’s fair to compare.

Always single-decked because of the railway bridge at Shortlands (and a couple of others in earlier days). The only Green Line route to have three garages working it daily, I believe (Staines, Dartford and Northfleet) - the 726 was introduced to give a variant via Heathrow to try to keep loadings up at the western end (they were always good at the eastern end).

I went on it for the full journey just prior to withdrawal, and a LONG two hours it was: very unusually for then, it was only worked by the one garage (Brixton) and they only put out RTs on it - the extra seat width of an RM or even an RTW would have been nice! On a wet Sunday afternoon cum evening I think I was almost the only passenger north of the Elephant all the way to Hendon - I do remember thinking 'if this is central Hendon I'm sure glad they don't dump us on the outskirts!@
