It has been reported elsewhere that over 30 of the 54 units are now built
None are in service due to software and reliability issues

Apparently some test train paths have materialised on the Euston - Watford DC working timetable to allow class 710s to be tested. There are several return trips in the late evening period for the next few days.

And just to reply to myself it seems for various reasons (attribution codes recorded in realtime trains) none of these paths have operated at all. So still no 710 testing on DC metals yet.

I wonder how the DC testing will go, I am slightly worried if faults develop and should they be serious they could result in the Goblin's 710s being pulled from service.

Another weird overnight set of trips for a Class 710 - this time one of the West Anglia AC only units. It's out now and has been along part of the GOBLIN, up to Hornsey stn on the connecting spur, back to the GOBLIN and then heads for Stratford via S Tottenham and has multiple workings up the Lea Valley to Broxbourne and back. It then returns to Stratford runs into Liv St back up to the Graham Rd curve and onto the NLL back to Willesden. This assumes it makes all the scheduled trips and nothing is cut short. First set of workings

Interesting today. 710s on consecutive services. We’re on the 1333 from Barking. The train going in that we passed before Woodgrange Park, which would form the 1348 was also a 710. In the last few weeks that would usually have been a 378.

I think it is Liv Street next was looking through a few websites that seem to suggest Liv Street, I’d like to hope it’s Liv Street seeing as they have the oldest stock on them 315/317 that isn’t compliant next year.

It's certainly the Watford DC that is next Even though the lines out of Liverpool Street have old junk that's awful to ride in they do at least have trains, the Watford DC is currently running a service that's roughly 15, 15, 30 so the 710s will be needed to plug the gap there. The Watford DC also will use the exact same trains the Goblin uses while the Chingford, Cheshunt and Enfield lines will use an AC only variant.

It's certainly the Watford DC that is next Surprising that they leave the Liv Street lines until last, the current stock is ancient (Excuse my exaggeration.) and really does need replacing sooner rather then later.
