That won't stop people from going through the middle or the back. How are TfL going to enforce this rule? The rule is really stupid.

I assume buses will still have the card readers by the other two doors until the trial has finished?
The 8 is a really busy route and bet you will still get passengers boarding as passengers alight. Will be impossible for drivers to spot every one.
At least when the bendy buses converted it was obvious for passengers they had to board via the front door with the LTs it will seem as if nothing has changed.

I can't help but think that the worst route to start to test on is the 8. I would have said the 267 route would be better as there's no other LT routes along the route apart from Hammersmith bus station. Maybe they want to test it on a busy route that goose through central London first

If SRMs confused people in to thinking they had open boarding, what hope do we have with only select NRM routes having open boarding. I'm surprised they didn't change every route at once - someone mentioned above this is only a trial though, so perhaps if deemed 'successful' every other route will change at the same time. (I know the buses have to be modified, but they could wait until all are done before implementing the boarding changes).

Seeing as many bus cages (road markings) are 2 -3 bus lengths, maybe drivers will stop slightly short of flag so only front door is near those waiting, and not open rear doors unless they have to. Voila,

Voila, That's true but will always be passengers who sworm towards a bus as soon as it pulls up even if it stops short. Anyway we will see. Once TfL gets an idea it will go ahead regardless.

There's also been many occasions when the front door of LTs line up with the person waiting at the stop but they still move towards the two rear doors to board the bus. Going to be very interesting tomorrow.

that was the whole point of the open platform to recreate the legacy of the RMs But LTs are nothing like RMs so does it really matter. It was a futuristic feature of the RM from the lying cu*t boris if they had CSAs the open platform would still be open today regardless if it looked like a RM or not
