No surprise there the pic was supposed to get new trains in 2014 but a certain Mr Johnson shelved the upgrade program. It looks like the Bakerloo line extension is delayed indefinitely as well.

I'm actually a bit pleased about that as the 73s will hang around that bit longer.

When the time's ideal again I intend to have a good old fashion train ride on them end to end, especially as I've yet to ride one to/from Terminal 5.

I love old fashioned trains when the C stock was getting withdrawn I always tend to wait for a C stock rather than S stock. The old stuff is always the best.

The ones I spoken to were glad when the D stock went.

The ones I spoken to were glad when the D stock went. I disliked the D stock but I did like the C stock - I do however like the S stock as well. The one I miss is the 67 stock that the Victoria Line had which I thoroughly enjoyed riding for many years although I do have it's sister stock that are on the Bakerloo Line still to enjoy - really like the 60's styling inside & the forward/rear facing seats.

The ones I spoken to were glad when the D stock went. They would, many do not hold any sentiment to them and it is just a tool. It is just like buses when older ones get replaced by newer ones, the majority of driver would be like good riddance to the older ones.

I liked the D stock back in the 80's as it was new and modern compared to the clapped out 62 stock. Although when the 62 stock were going it was sad to see them go. It was also sad to see the D stock go, downside of them is they were slow.

I was glad they went (c stock), couldn't stand the look of them and they seemed slow I think my favourite stock on the SSL lines has to be the A stock I loved those units it's amazing they lasted 57 years (if you count the RAT) doing up to 50mph on the fast lines. I also liked the sounds they made when coming into a station even on the ELL they was good but better on the met. Out of interest why did do you think the C stock was ugly? Personally I think the was OK.
