Greetings, does anyone know when the results of this and whether it is happening or not? The Consultation closed on 30th July, TfL has yet to produce its report on the Consultation. I would be surprised if most of the proposed changes do not go ahead.

Greetings, does anyone know when the results of this and whether it is happening or not? I suspect quite soon particularly if the tenders for new contracts have not been sent out.

It has been reported by Dean Sullivan that the 549 is being withdrawn next year and being replaced by the W14 extension. I assume the full consultation results will follow shortly by TfL.

I know it’s a small thing but the most ridiculous thing about the whole scheme is the renumbering especially where the 549 and W14 share a common section. There is an awful lot of tinkering of the network lately.

On the Sullivan Buses fan club group on Facebook Thanks, assuming w14 will now be a Sullivan route. Not directly stated but he mentions "It's a disappointing outcome as our drivers have enjoyed driving on the 549."

On the Sullivan Buses fan club group on Facebook Thanks, assuming w14 will now be a Sullivan route. Why would it when the 549 is being withdrawn! The revised W12 and W14 take parts of the former 549 and are being tendered shortly.

Not sure why it would be a disappointing outcome from Sullivan's point of view, as the revised W14 is basically just an extended 549 so would be a similar experience for the drivers. I assume maybe it will go out to tender still with the W12/W13? Also would the revised W14 still be possible with 1 bus like the 549, or will the PVR go up?

Maybe I’m missing something here but why is it assumed the W14 would be given to Sullivans? The old 549 is withdrawn and the new revised W14 is tendered in the normal way. TfL makes savings with the withdrawal of the 549 and possibly some savings on the revised W14 after the increase on the W12. There will probably be some negotiations with Sulivans like when other routes have been withdrawn. I very much doubt the new W14 could run with a PVR of one considering the length and frequency increase compared to the old 549.

There is an awful lot of tinkering of the network lately. Buses don't have via points on the front blinds as it's "confusing" but then they go and make ridiculously confusing nonsensical changes like this , if anything 549 number should be kept as the new W14 isn't anything like the W14 , I think all these changes are stupid really the new W14 is going to be very lightly used in the evenings but every journey matters , "drink" up and brewery spring to mind .

My assumption is just because the 549's contract doesn't expire until 2027, it's rare for TFL to withdraw a route mid-contract without any compensation, i.e. another route taking over that contract. The W14 would be a logical replacement, but maybe since the 549's PVR is only 1, TFL prefer to just terminate the contract?

By the time the W12, W13 and W14 start new contracts in September 2024 it would probably be easier for TfL to negotiate an early end to the tender or wait until the break clause which must around this time on a 5 year contract?
