Following a week-long closure in December 2022, Transport for London will once again be closing sections of the Bakerloo Line and the Euston-Watford Overground route during the Summer Holiday period.
During the closures Network Rail will install 18,000 concrete sleepers, replacing wooden sleepers dating from the 1950s. 48km of signalling cable will also be replaced and 1km of railway drainage will be replaced between Harlesden and Stonebridge Park.
Six stations will have improvement work: Kensal Green, Harlesden, North Wembley, South Kenton, Headstone Lane and Watford High Street.
Phase one: Sunday 23rd July to Sunday 30th July
- Euston-Watford services suspended throughout.
- Bakerloo Line suspended between Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone. A reduced service will operate over the rest of the line as trains will not be able to access Stonebridge Park Depot.
Phase two: Monday 31st July to Thursday 10th August
- Euston-Watford services suspended between Willesden Junction and Watford Junction.
- Bakerloo Line suspended between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone.
Phase three: Friday 11th August to Friday 18th August (same as Phase one)
- Euston-Watford services suspended throughout.
- Bakerloo Line suspended between Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone. A reduced service will operate over the rest of the line as trains will not be able to access Stonebridge Park Depot.
Phase four: Saturday 19th August to Friday 28th August
- Euston-Watford services suspended between Willesden Junction and Watford Junction.
- Bakerloo Line open through to Harrow & Wealdstone.
Passengers can use London Northewestern Railway services which will call at London Euston, Wembley Central, Harrow & Wealdstone, Bushey and Watford Junction. Temporary bus routes 718, 719 and 720 will also operate.
