If it's only broken down, why would it not re-enter service? It's not severely damaged by the sounds of it after all. It’s so old, TF are considering to scrap as so many complaints from residents have come in about the ‘obnoxious’ whistle. Isn't 8065 now London's oldest bus? Forgot it was still going to be honest! I must admit it has been breaking down quite a lot recently, back in the summer one of my friends who works in Kingston sent me a photo of it broken down at a set of traffic lights, and it went mechanical on me while I was waiting for it once on the H25 in 2017!

My thinking exactly, it’s nearly 17 years old, by London standards it’s long past it’s sell by date now. Quite frankly I think it's a testament to how well the bus has been running. Clearly it wouldn't still be on the roads if it was past its sell by date. I do remember it being praised often when it was at BC. Buses from 2007/8 in my area have been withdrawn recently and I personally think its quite a shame. Just over a decade old. It would be nice to see buses in the suburbs of London lasting as long as 8065 has been

Apolgies if mentioned a while ago but 2516 seems to have a new blind set as it has the new style Old Kent Road, Tesco blind that is seen on 2577-2578/2580-2618.

Looks like the C2's E400s have finally gone for refurbishment. 9528 and 9529 have already been refurbished. 9528-9543 looks it will form part of the 207's allocation come April.

I turned up at QB today looking to take one out on rail replacement and the majority of them had vanished. Only 9525/27 were about in the wash and were the only vehicles in the entire garage that had not been fuelled as luck would have it.

When are the C2s E400s being upgraded to Euro 6? When the 427 is cut back to Southall surely it would make more sense to use E400s on the 427 at WS whilst the 207 uses the 427s MMCs from AB.

Have a question regarding the Tridents, which I probably knew at one point but have long since forgotten! Of which I'm sure will be a quick and easy answer! Apologies if I get the fleet numbers wrong, I don't have an old enough fleetbook readily to hand.
9701-9730 were obviously purchased new by Connex for the 3 but when 9738-9772 were purchased, weren't they originally for routes 60 & 157? At what point did they end up getting switched to the 3? was it a contract renewal, using existing vehicles, with the earlier vehicles going the other way to the 60 & 157? Or mid contract, which seems to ring a bell for some reason!

Or mid contract, which seems to ring a bell for some reason! 9739-9772 were indeed new for the 60 and 157 (note 9738 was part of the Y-reg batch for the 196). After the 60 was lost in Sept 2006 some of them moved to the 3 in readiness for the route's new contract starting in Feb 2007, which was awarded on the basis of a mix of new & existing buses.
The "new bus" element of the 3 consisted of new E400s from the batch 9401-9427 (most of the batch was for the 452). In practice the new E400s were concentrated at QB, with a few 02-reg TAs from the 344 batch, plus a handful of 06-reg Vs, moving over to BC for the 3. This gave BC a full allocation of EuroIII vehicles for the 3 as per the contract award. The Vs did not last long on the 3 as their poor acceleration was problematic on a tightly-timed route, so they were swapped with a few TAs on the 157, giving the 3 an all-TA allocation.

Seeing as WL is overflowing and QB is loosing a lot of work with first the 452 and soon the C2 wouldn't it make sense to transfer the 196 allocation to QB?

Thanks for that. I had forgotten all about the V's being used on the 3!
