You've not had the most recent CPC training then? That wasn't on our latest CPC....well not that I remember anyway Well, when you're sitting at the back quietly snoring then you're not likely to remember anything! ;D ;D

That doesn't seem to work anymore either, used to be handy when coming off diversion as you could play the next stop, as it is now it doesn't play until your right on top of it. I've found a workaround! Scroll down the stop name you want to announce so it is second from bottom (where the highlighted stop name is), press the button alongside (MDT should beep), then press Esc, then press the button alongside again and it will play the stop name. Also, while I'm here I was having a scroll through the SMS messages and found an intriguing one that reads something like "Announcement not working OBNSS". What is an OBNSS? Moz Thanks for this it works...of course it helps if you jump to the correct next stop, but it works nonetheless

Just a quick query more than anything else
I happened to be driving along Sevenoaks Road from Hewitts Roundabout towards Pratts Bottom the other day. I noticed there's a TfL stop called Stonehouse Lane but it's only served by the non-TfL route 402. Since this route does not have iBus would the Stonehouse Lane stop still have been recorded? And, indeed, would any other TfL stops served only by non-TfL services also have the stop name recorded for iBus?
I have to say, I would have thought yes. I think it makes more sense to record everything rather than go through the list of all the stops in London and cross off those that aren't used by TfL services
I've really got to find more to do with my time when I'm driving haven't I?! ;D

On the H37 from Hounslow to Richmond today OT13 (Bus 201) has the audible IBus but no visuals. This bus to my knowledge has been like this since it took the route early June 2011

Not 100% on this one, as its a TfL stop it may have been recorded, but then again being a non TfL route the data is held differently on our systems. Just a quick query more than anything else I happened to be driving along Sevenoaks Road from Hewitts Roundabout towards Pratts Bottom the other day. i wish there was a ibus msg that said stop f**king pressing that bell There is... It's worded something like "This bus terminates here, Please take all your belongings with you" It can be used at any stop and guarantees no bell ringing after that stop... ;D

I've never understood that; I play that message and you can guarantee that someone will then ring the bell for that stop

I normally follow that one with a PA announcement and I STILL get people ringing the bell

Not if you keep playing it. In any case it gets them worried. Or - the next bus stop is closed No, that announcement guarantees a bell ringing! I've never understood that; I play that message and you can guarantee that someone will then ring the bell for that stop

I've never understood that; I play that message and you can guarantee that someone will then ring the bell for that stop I've taken to playing it three or four times at the previous stop. It's not as common now but it still happens occasionally. On the 246 at the moment we've got the stops at The Fox in Keston closed. Going towards Westerham isn't so bad because the next stop is just up the road but coming the other way, the next stop - Hartfield Crescent - is nearly a mile away and in the middle of nowhere. It's vital you get the message through that you aren't stopping at The Fox. Thankfully, in that direction, I've had no problems but despite playing the 'Stop Closed' message all the way from Hartfield Crescent towards Keston, someone always rings the bell for The Fox

There was a time a while back when they were doing some gas main works on Green Lane near it's junction with Park Road. The stop had been closed but no temporary stop had been sighted. so of course I used to play that announcement and even do a PA to tell people the stop was closed, that they should use the current or next available stop and that I wouldn't stop there. Never seemed to stop people ringing the bell and then asking me to let them out at a red traffic light. Seems bus passengers hate being told no

Whilst on the 468 yesterday I noticed the final two stop announcements in Elephant and Caste have been changed. The first one was "Elephant and Castle Station, alight here for Northern Line" and the second, "Elephant and Castle/Newington Causeway, alight here for Bakerloo Line". The line names were never included in the announcements so must be a very recent change. Are other tube interchanges around the network having their announcements changed like this, because it sounds very useful.
