Why do them VMH’s that had the external pedestrian alarm, have like a white line around the front of the bus? Is there a reason or is it just some new design.... when I first saw it last year, I thought it was duct tape lol I think you mean VWH, not VMH. What you describe were experimental TfL "safety" designs imposed upon ML. The white reflective tape is noticeable as it stands out, however the beeping alarm is annoying and just blends into the background of a busy Oxford Street. Yes i did mean VWH. Ok that is indeed the one - rhanks

It gives me a headache when I hear for more than about 30 seconds and has made using the 98 on Oxford Street very unpleasant. I think the alarm is pointless but what's even more pointless is doing it when the bus is stationary. Is the alarm here to stay or is it only a trial?

There is another AC VWH that has some sort of white very thin tape around the front I have been wondering about that

Now with the 190 getting a 2 year extension I wonder if the DEM could make their way to AH to be used on the route to replace the DMs

The problem could be that DEMs provide insufficient capcaity for the busy 190 which may cope better at peak horus with DELs, off peak DEMs would do for

That said, the 190 only needs 11 buses in total and there would be 5 more buses still to allocate. The 316 personally would be the likely place for them but here's a stab in the dark - all 16 go to UX to convert the rest of the U2 and the whole U1 to DEL's leaving no left overs.

Ever since the 27 got a cut back the 190 has seen an increase in passengers, the closure of Hammersmith bridge may also be a factor as well

I just mentioned the DEM on the 190 as where they could possibly go but it'd rather the route gets double Deckers. You are right the loss of the 27 down Chiswick high road means the 190 has got busier. I'd also like to see ADH on the 391 more often.

Also it'd make a route I use regularly, the E3, more interesting because V would have a wider variety of double deckers

Now that Reading Buses' diesel Metrodeckers are postponed until October, I wonder whether Metroline' electric examples will be delayed until November? Either that, or the Metroline examples will come first, so any time from now until September really.

The fact that none of the 235s DELs have done the 190 (or 209), despite frequently doing the 117 could suggested that they're not cleared for the route?
