Yup, it's a closed group so you have to be a member to see the content. Feel free to sign up. And I’m sorry with no disrespect intended, this is the problem with Facebook taking over from established things like Yahoo Groups. Everything is all over the place now, why should people have to sign up to The Londoner, this site, a Go Ahead Facebook group and probably all manner of others just to get a whole picture of what’s going on. If only we had, I don’t know, a single source for everything. That would be just peachy. This came up last week on Yahoo and for some reason people thought I was closing a group. I'm not , plenty of room for all.

The thing I don't like about Facebook groups is that friends can sometimes see what you posting in these groups. I am not ashamed of liking buses but at the same time don't feel comfortable having that on my social feed if that makes sense.

Apparently one of the 227s buses was involved in a crash today? Anyone know anything about it? What a way to start the service! ;/ It was WS130, it was one of the smallest of scratches and the bus is already back out. The car had seen better days though!

I was in Penge earlier and the Streetlites appeared to handle the afternoon school run, but from a space point of view, the Citaros were perfect for the route.

The 227 is busiest in the morning between the Crooked Billet and Beckenham Library. This time of year is a bit quieter due to study leave and exams so I'll personally reserve judgement until things get into full flow later in September! Whilst the London bus network theoretically offers a homogenous product, one of the harsh realities of the tendering system is the occasional marked change in vehice quality. Not a million miles away, I'll never forget the day when the superb, capacious LondonLinks B10Ms on the 176 vanished into thin air and were replaced by dingy Kentish bus Olympians with poor legroom and much older, beat up Ls which after an eternity, got a proper overhaul - locals could be heard complaining for a few days about the changes! But then it cuts both ways and passengers do notice and comment when nicer buses appear.

Where did you get that idea from? The Enviro200EVs for the 214 are just about to be delivered, there is a picture of one of them in July's "Buses" magazine. They are the first ones to be built to the shorter 10.2m length. The Enviro200EVs for the 100 will be even shorter, at 9.6m. Incidentally any ADL bodywork for BYD electric double-deckers will be the Enviro400 City variant, the MMC will not be offered on electric chassis. Stagecoach Manchester is also taking 32, to the slightly lower height of 4.2m (the Metroline examples are full-height at 4.3m). Going forward, glazed staircases will be optional on both models. TP1 said it and said apparently he got an email of some sort from the MD of NP and he works there or something. I am guessing this is false information. Just wanted to state for the record (and no disrespect), I am genuinely a driver at NP. The email is just the general weekly rundown and they did a site visit at Wright. I don't mean to cause any controversy, just sharing what I've heard as a matter of discussion!

It's bad that they've already been on a crash course as such though. It doesn't matter if the bus is 1 minute or 11 years in service. If you drove a bus especially in this city full of idiots, you really wouldn't be saying that.

Perhaps it is to be a trial vehicle, with an eye to future orders? Bear in mind that most of us will not have seen the actual e-mail in question so cannot comment accurately on the actual wording that was used. You sometimes have to be careful what you extrapolate, from what is actually being said.

Last night around 10:15pm E196 appeared to have broken down on the 405 at Purley Tesco Interestingly the LVF history shows that E196 came off the 405 at 10:30 then was used on the X26 for half an hour between 23:15 and 23:45 and then was used on the 119 for a further hour so I really don't know what was going on there. For a while now there have been too many buses that just randomly stop tracking during the day. Sometimes they start tracking again later but often they remain "missing". Occasionally they can be out all day but not track at any point!

If retained, what will happen to the 108 citaros next tender? I doubt the buses will be used on another tender in London, the buses are 10 years old now and the 108 contract runs until 2021 maybe 2023.
