Hi all I was on facebook and I saw this group about save Route N213. Well apparently, there is going to be a protest occurring tommorow at 10pm, outside Wallington Hall 154 bus stop. Tom Brake, MP which represents Carshalton and Wallington, who is a Liberal Democrat is part of the co-ordinator. So I thought that I should share with you

It was a daft idea getting rid of the link. It may not have been profitable or heavily used, but it's still a socially necessary route .

I have used the N213 a few times from kingston to croydon. The route is very well used from kingston. Can't recall many people on it when reaching croydon. I never used it going the other way but have noticed a fair bit of passengers on it when going towards kingston from croydon. I think the link should be saved. I be working at that time so can't make it

I've used it a few times before when coming back from Wallington/Carshalton, usually just miss an N44 when we get to Sutton which I need to get into Mitcham which is always bloody annoying. Perhaps it would be better to just run the route to Croydon on Friday and Saturday nights when it is busiest, although I hear alot of posties are also complaining about it. It does seem strange that when taking away a night link between three of the biggest towns in south London TfL introduce a new night service down through Surbiton to Chessington in the middle of nowhere.

Even though a light visitor here now, I'm surprised the N213 wasn't commented on sooner. The Croydon end WAS busy! I don't know where TfL are getting their figures from. Just makes me wonder what's next......any night route getting cut is not a good sign in todays age....

Just makes me wonder what's next......any night route getting cut is not a good sign in todays age.... the N213 does seem to have variable loadings, you will get a different result during Kingston Univ term times than Univ holidays As a follow up to an earlier comment about having night service to Chessington instead, A night service to Tolworth, Hook, and Copt Gilders are at least residential areas, so might justify it (or might not). But a continuation to World of Adventures at night is just wasting money. Many night services in Kingston are badly thought out as they mimic the day routes which are based on serving a shopping area. Not the first place people want to go at night.

I hear a lot of Royal Mail workers used the croydon section and did not know about the change until it happened (lack of tfl publicity AGAIN), and are not best pleased.

Hi again. On Wednesday the 22nd of July 2009........... another protest is going to take place, in Croydon, at the Fairfields Hall. The reason for the location is because Mayor Boris Johnson will be taking questions there. Most likely, a couple of question will be regarding about Discontinued Route N213. The protest will start at 18:00 and end 19:00. It is going to occur before the Question Times, which is planned to start at 19:00 www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=121014193763

I'm glad residents are reacting in this way and not just accepting what TfL does. It is about time something is done with some of their ridiculous decisions such as this one.
Was something similar done when the N75 was cancelled?

A lot of the south london Nservices are badly timed for example the N133 is due to leave mitcham 1 minute before the N44 arrives from sutton! Although there is an unofficial understanding that you hang back and wait for the N44 to arrive its amazing how many people you can get off it sometimes.

I wish they would provide a more even service from Seven Sisters;
Sun - Thurs evening at Seven Sisters Station going in the Central London direction; 149 - 01:54 (nex 02:24) 243 - 01:58 (next 02:28) N73 - 01:59 (next 02:29) N279 - 01:58 (next 02:18)
Why do four seperate routes just happen to arrive within a five minute window then the next one is almost 20 minutes after? Especially the 149 and 243 which are duplicated between Tottenham and Shoreditch.

Especially the 149 and 243 which are duplicated between Tottenham and Shoreditch. I understand what you mean and that is quite true. But I have realised that other places, like for example on Route N73, people would say, why does the bus connect with other buses at Islington Angel. Why doesn't this bus wait for this bus and it would go on at Kings Cross/ Walthamstow. The problem would be that there are so many night routes, and if some routes waited 2-5minutes, not much journies would be achievable. The final problem is the frequency of the routes. Some routes are 20, while some are every 30 minutes, depending on the night of the week. But I do understand what you mean though
