Also the factor that every single bus drives differently, some are really punchy some are just dead It would also be best test when new from factory as most are virtually the same then. I’d happily volunteer to test drive some buses round a race track if anyone is offering

The driver of the 321 tonight on EH192 going towards New Cross Gate stunk of Cannabis and drove past a bus stop that someone hailed for it to stop. I got on at Foots Cray Tesco.

That should definitely get reported to Go Ahead at the very least: those details with rough times should be sufficient to identify the duty/driver. It's not so long since that West Croydon incident involving a bus driver under the influence of drugs.

I've had a whiff of cannabis on a few buses but I didn't think it was emanating from the driver but if I did have reason to think the driver may be under the influence of something I would call the police.

We’ve had drivers pulled off buses because people have called to say they think they have been smoking drugs etc, when every time it’s actually been someone on the bus. I’ve even had people accuse me of being high/on drugs because of the stench from some people that board our buses

The stench of cannabis really does hang around (Can't stand the smell and living in east London where its a real issue I smell it daily) so could have been from a previous trip the bus was used on, or someone had been smoking upstairs. I have also been driving my car and its come through the air vents from passing cars (Scary thought people driving whilst high).

I don't think you'd be posting this if you weren't fairly sure the smell came from the driver's cab, but with screens you can't be as certain of course. It would also help if you were able to get off the bus at the front, by which time you'd have been into the bus and been able to ascertain if the cannabis smell was present there too. Personally, I wouldn't contact the police unless I was 100% certain, and probably not even then. What chance of an immediate police response on a Saturday night in S.E. London for a start? No, contact the operator with your concerns and they can decide what to do about it: I'd imagine a snap drug test, possibly presented as a random one, might be the answer, assuming there'd been no other previous concerns.

Not really, it depends on the area.

It's always been a massive issue down here as well as people openly have smoked it in Brixton for years - we even had cannabis cafes at one point. I can't stand the smell as well - where I work, we have flats behind us and the people in the flats stand behind the store and smoke it and the smell comes into the warehouse as a result - managers used to think it was staff smoking downstairs when it wasn't.

You got cannabis out back and pee in front (try waiting at the Brixton Station stop outside your shop for a minute or two lol without feeling the stench)

His driving was erratic as well. I've had the misfortune of being in cars driven by people that were under the influence of it in the past, and I know the signs by the driving.

If it was me, I'd be reporting that, in writing, with all the facts and my opinion as to what might have been going on. I've only once in my life reported a driver for probable drunk driving, and I did think it over for a few minutes before doing so. In this case, it was a car driver and I made a 999 call. It helped that I was at home and the driver, together with his car, remained outside my house until about thirty seconds before police arrived, and I was able to tell them he'd just gone: actually, he was so drunk he'd not gone far. He was an old man too, one who every Saturday parked his car on the double yellow lines and went into the pub for a few hours.

Idk if you guys are up for story but, here is my idea and please feel free to have constructive feedback on it lol. Basically I am pretty sure you know routes which get stuck in traffic and I mean gridlock traffic in rush/peak time and the bus is full and 80% of the passengers wanna get off at the next stop because THAT'S the stop everyone gets off to get train or whatever. The passengers start knocking on the cab asking for driver to 'let them off' because that's only 2 min walk to the stop, or 10-15 sometime even 20 min drive to that stop. Letting passengers off outside of the stop is illegal as far as I know, therefore 70% (probably) of drivers won't open the doors...so my idea is maybe for TFL to start painting some sort of 'Oh no Traffic Line' along the places which get gridlock so drivers can legally open the doors but only if the bus hasn't moved in awhile and obviously if it's safe to do so, therefore giving drivers a bit of room to breathe instead of arguing with passengers that they'll have to wait 15 minutes to drive 5 metres.
Again I am not saying they should start painting them everywhere, but probably do research on few routes which need it. Because where I am, passengers are letting off themselves by pressing button and it's becoming 'just another day in the office' routine every single morning.
