I wonder how TfL will view a consolidation in the outside advertising market. Their advertising contract is worth big bucks but a reduction in competition in the wider market place is possibly not good news. While radio and advertising are two different things I'm not a fan of what Global has done to radio in the UK - mass blandification and now they are closing down a lot of local stations and local news reporting too. As this is a bus forum will try and keep my thoughts on this to a minimum but there's no such thing as local radio any more which is really sad to see. Many talented presenters have lost there jobs because the government gave them the go ahead to go national and look who is taking over B list celebrities. Unfourntly Bauer will follow suit for example they brought four radio stations in one month, how they get away with it do not know. Quite a lot of TfL buses are currently carrying ads for the Capital Radio Breakfast Show. Coincidence? 🤔

That stop has long been like that. It got me confused when I was trying to get from Westminster to the Elephant and I thought the 53 wouldn't pull up at that stop

Is it just me or does this new N53 only going as far as Horse Guards Parade seem stupid, why not extend the N53 all the way to Oxford Circus. Or you could extend the N53 all the way to Marylebone and increase the frequency incorporating the 453 and the N53 could have some short workings to Deptford Bridge

With a number of routes doing ongoing bulk curtailments in Central London do buses tend to stand at the curtailment point or is extra mileage (short journeys) being done? The day before yesterday I saw two 59 in a row (on two occasions) showing Brixton from Streatham Hill, presumably doing extra mileage to avoid too many buses standing at the depot.

The 364 is getting SEs, not WSs Is it actually getting MMCs?!?!?!?? Fantastic!!!!!! It is indeed, SE304 - SE319. Most likely gonna be Voith as well, but as I said in the GAL thread, it is an upgrade to the current SEs that it’s currently allocated with for sure.

There was me thinking that the 209’s SEs order was a one off and only done due to being light enough for Hammersmith Bridge hope now all future single decker order will be SEs! the 232 will be the last GAL route ordered StreetLites mwahahaha 😈😈😈 Hopefully GAL have now come to their senses and realised (like ML did with the G3s and changed bodywork manufacturer) their WSs are absolute heaps and they need to shop elsewhere

I was in the West End yesterday and there were lots of people waiting at stops which are not being served by any buses due to the demos. Why can't TfL put these stops out of service, so people know there will be no buses coming?
Portman Square was complete chaos. Traffic horrendous and lack of stand space for buses. Worse, no clue what buses were stopping where. TfL really need to sort this out.

Today there was new meaning on the 274 for regulating the service. I was on VMH2482 and it was going on the slow side, nevertheless it was catching up VMH2470 ahead. VMH2470 then waited at the bus stop ahead and we caught it up. The driver then advised us to get off and board VMH2470 which then setoff, whilst VMH2482 waited around to regulate the service!!!
This was at least a better outcome for the passengers, but I have never seen this before.
