Not too fond of Sullivan Buses, seem to always arrive quiet late, disorganised buses basically a 'put whatever on it' allocation and the whole 'SUL' numberplate creates serious confusion if a bus has an issue it is not easy to identify a bus quickly. Is having the same last letters that different than having same first letters that alot of other operators have?

Most other operator's buses have the same or very similar first four digits of their numberplates in a single batch, this doesn't create confusion....

According to elsewhere:
Sullivan Buses have acquired 5 Enviro200s formerly used with GoAhead London.
LX10AUT - will now be coded AE6, formerly coded SE38 LX10AUU - will now be coded AE7, formerly coded SE40 LX10AUY - will now be coded AE8, formerly coded SE43 LX10AVB - will now be coded AE9, formerly coded SE44 LX10AVD - will now be coded AE10, formerly coded SE46
AE6-9 will be used on Hertfordshire services, replacing MANs and AE10 will be used on the Thorpe Park Shuttle in Surrey.
So those 2010 Enviro 200’s Ensignbus recently advertised was the ex 300 batch.

Do SBs E200s have the 299 on their blinds? Saw both AE16 and AE23 in Muswell Hill this afternoon with 299 paper stuck to front, side and rear windows. Good banditry attempt however.

Those who like TPL926-927 will be pleased to learn that apparently, they may stick around for a while yet as emissions floats as the Scania's will go to be upgraded to Euro VI emissions.

Sullivans have problems with their Scania blinds ripping, scrunching or showing random displays Apparently part of the problem is the drivers charging their phone in the blind controller usb port where blind programming files are meant to be updated which resets the blind randomly 😂

Our Scanias have an appetite for eating blinds, as a result I have now ordered 13 new sets to replace the existing blind sets. I have also simplified the displays. The old sets had our Commercial services on the blinds which probably made them too long and prone to destruction. I have also cut back on the rail displays. Finally I am also in discussions with McKennas to fit the blinds themselves. We have previously done this in house. Unfortunately I suspect McKennas are bogged down with the London changes, so delivery times are up to 9 weeks from confirmation of order.

Yeah, believe he or someone else also commented about the chargers a few posts later (It was probably The Londoner )

He could fit the new Hanover LEDs instead... it's not like TfL still bother with blind presentation, it would be nice to know where my 217 bus is going seeing all sorts on the route at the moment. Too many short workings between Waltham Cross and Enfield, drivers not issuing transfer tickets if you get turfed off the bus next to the retail park my Mrs had to miss 3 buses just to get home from Enfield to The Roundway as there was no buggy space, plus short workings (although buses were blinded Turnpike Lane)... saw one of the MMCs on a School Bus working on Colney Hatch Lane on Friday, no doubt an ex Abellio E400 was on the 217 in its place

Why is it Sullivan always orders an awkward amount of double deckers? It orders 2 TEs from Metroline and replaces TN2 and a newer ELV rather than ELV6, ALX6 or TN1. Why is this? Why can't order like 10 to replace the old fleet?

Why can't order like 10 to replace the old fleet? You don’t order secondhand buses, they’re purchased and the reason why in small numbers is because it orders to its contracts not how many vehicles in total it has. ALX6 & TN1 haven’t been part of the TfL fleet for ages now and ELV6 is a emissions float whilst the DS’s go for upgrading. Also, sometimes, there is only a certain amount of compliant secondhand buses to pick from so you can’t always order loads at one time.

Sullivans is owned by a single guy ... you dont always have loads of cash in a company to just go out and buy 10 vehicles Imagine buses selected for withdrawal are probably as they are the most troublesome and unreliable
