The area in London I don't like is Brixton. I have never liked that place and I have been there lots of times, it's really overcrowded and the crime rate there used to be really high. I don't have a problem with any other place other than that and I like Lewisham (I live in the borough of it anyway), although some places under Lewisham borough are a bit hit-and-miss but Lewisham is a nice place and borough.

The crime rate USED to be high - the yuppies are moving in and Brixton is slowly transforming. It's certainly far nicer than it was when I was around 10-11. As a kid, West Norwood was another awful place but it sorted itself out over the years. Brixton is really overcrowded because it has bus links to places in all directions from Brixton and is the terminus of the Victoria Line (Brixton is the 6th busiest tube station outside of Central London). The only quiet bit is the railway station which is quite dead & needs a big revamp. For me, Peckham is still the worst area - thankfully, my cousins live in North Peckham so I get there via Albany Road rather than go anywhere near the centre.

Brixton doesn't seem too bad these days, the vibes are better now. I went and had some proper Roti from the Guyanian food stall and people were talking and everything! Its on a tipping point of being "gentrified", you still have a lot of the quirky stalls and culture there but the intimidation factor has gone down somewhat. My worry is that as time goes on the area will change beyond recognition and the old school culture that has thrived there for yonks will dissappear with it.

Over the years, people change the decade 2000's is not the same as 2010's because London had the Olympics in 2012 which made a massive change to its image. But 2014 will be an eventful year because of the Tour De France event in London which is one thing. But I do even remember the year 2000's but I mostly remember the Millennium dome. Like I always say, times change but we all make the most of it.

There's only been one incident I've had in Peckham in the 90s when I was mugged by a group of youths on a Route 12 Titan on a Sunday afternoon going towards Camberwell.
Personally if you stick to Rye Lane rather than the High Street which has had shootings, stabbings etc, it's perfectly fine and is largely quiet at night. Bellenden Road, where the P13 goes along is gentrified to the point that it's more middle class suburbia than rough round the edges.
However Peckham is in need of regeneration from Peckham Rye Station towards the Rye.

Enfield has really gone down hill in the last 5 years. Used to be quite nice there.

Whilst Brixton's reputation has somewhat gradually changed since the millennium, mainly on the actual town centre, I have often being told that Thornton Heath is becoming the 'new Brixton'.

The entire A1010 corridor/ route 279 (Seven Sister upwards) is perhaps my least favourite part of London. Not sure if dangerous is the right word but I certainly don't like it there.

Catford can also be bad at times and it makes me unlike there sometimes.

Woolwich, Plumstead, Abbey Wood, Thamesmead, Belvedere are all South London with Erith being in Kent They are still in 'London' and in the 'East', which is what I was getting at.
