They'll probably release games on both platforms for a while, like they did with the PS2/PS3 switch. Then phase out support for the PS3. Funnily enough, in Japan they still make games for the PS2 - just because it was so popular (best selling console of all time!) I still think that PS2 is the best console I've ever owned not least as you can play your PS1 games on it whereas PS3 decided to remove that feature which is why I jumped ship to Xbox360. VJ as stated before I'm sure your well aware that a certain PS3 is able to play both PS1 and PS2 games which is and I think is the only 60GB. I'm sure you and Edd have seen a pic on my FB profile showing Driver (1999)... I do agree on Ed's view about the PS3 controller not being that much updated but imo it makes gaming more easier for me as I'm more known to X,O,Square and Triangle rather then the stupid X,Y,A,B and the two d-pad buttons which look stupid. Although I can't really give two opinions on the online game play to PS3 vs Xbox360 thing but sometimes on the PS3 you do get a fantastic service. But my question is to you why choose a Xbox 360 when you have to pay £40 a year membership whereas with the PS3 online service is absolutely free.

I've used both and the Xbox 360 is far superior for online service. The £35 annually is worth it, and it takes several years before the cumulative price of Live + the Xbox's price matches that of the PS3. Worth it in that sense. And X Y A B is hardly a crazy system. Modelled on the Gameboy after all. The D-pad is silly but you rarely use that other than as support buttons. The left and right stick are very good, and again the design is better on an Xbox 360 - the surface of the sticks is concave which fits much better.

Yes but not brand new, they stopped making them as there was some fault discovered. As for the Xbox live system, it's miles better than the PSN network. The look on my mates face as he couldn't play online on Fifa12 for a month when the PSN network was hacked into said it all and if paying £40 a year stops that from happening, then so be it. I like both the Playstation & Xbox controllers though I no longer like the Playstation analogue sticks for the reason that I'm not used to them anymore ;D

Xbox controllers are foul, Playstation for life. What's wrong with them? They're fitted perfectly to your hand and designed to be ideal for FPS.

Yeah but with no valid reasons the PS3 controller is better and more durable, The battery is better and it works with the best console of all time, The PS3. Never had any problems with the 3 that I have had, First one was damaged by a power surge but was replaced by the PS3 slim which I then sold for a V festival ticket (Worth it ;D ) and then late last year I ended up with a brand new Super Slim which is working great and is a good Room Heater

The Xbox v Playstation debates are like the E400 v b9tl Gemini 2 debates. By which I mean if you say you rode a bus and you really like it you become bias likewise say you started off with a Xbox you become used to it and love it so you will prefer that over any other console. By the way Xbox is a million times better.

But my all time favorite Muscle is the Ford Mustahg off any model. The roar of that V8 is just staggering. Apologise for going off topic here, got a bit carried away.

Well it's rumoured Sony are going to announce a lot of info on the PS4 on the 20th of this month. Strangely I was talking to my retailer of Video Games (that 4 letter company starting with a G, ending with E and based in Basingstoke ) and we agreed we think GTA V is being delayed for the next gen machines. As for the Controller issue I've never been a fan of the Xbox controller (too bulky) and I hate the fact you have to PAY to go online with the Xbox (not that I do online gaming much) I was a late convert into the Playstation family as I didn't think Sony would succeed against the might of Sega and was one of the few that went for the Sega Saturn (which actually wasn't a bad machine) however once I converted I've never wavered and still remember a long for the nights of FIFA leagues (yes play the WHOLE season in a night ;D) even if my playing partners did get the hump when I used to score goals with my keeper (having dropped the ball on a goal kick and then weaving magic all the way down the pitch ) couldn't do it now though

Hopefully the PS4 should beat the Xbox720 this time. Although Mircosoft as usual would out class Sony.

Only a year ago, both Sony & Microsoft said that any new console wouldn't be made or created for a good few years yet so, myself, I'm treating it with caution for now.
