Yh last nights episode was much better. I like how centrecomm has a bus stop in the middle of the office lol. The homeless guy who goes to Heathrow and states that the N9 is the longest night route needs to try the N89 but thats probably too busy. I also saw the forum celebrity on the camera, more then once. N89 is 33km but N9 is 32km (both equate to 21 miles) This makes N89 the longest 'stopping' route (the X26 is the same distance but it's an express)

I was interesting to see them using VP20 as a tree lopper, is this its usual duty now? Also, I liked how, when filming at LI, they made it look as though DMC41539 which was blinded for the U3 was being made ready for the run out!

Tonights episode was good too. The Forum celebrity showed up again. Nice to seem them using a range of garages include Ash Grove, West Ham, Plumstead, Catford and Bromley. I thought it was a decent enough episode. I was shocked that "new lady bus driver" was put on the road on her own - seemingly on her first day but that was not entirely clear. I've certainly seen new Arriva drivers be chaparoned by another driver. Interestingly TfL tweeted after the programme that new drivers are accompanied so who is correct? Anyone care to say? I did think the bit about showing people what really goes on in the background was genuinely educational even though some people, like "Mrs Rent a Gob" at Woolwich, would never believe it. "They're bloody useless they are". The "empathy manager" at Stagecoach was a complete hoot - you could see the cynicism and disbelief written all over the drivers' faces. I did feel that Freebbc probably requires medical attention after a complete overdose of RMs and the NB4L. Interesting that Boris believes the NB4L is better because it doesn't make a noise or vibrate like a RM. Methinks he needs to take a ride on route 24. I see that TfL have tweeted that NB4Ls will be placed on to 20 Central area routes - first time I have seen a number of routes quoted.

I've enjoyed all three episodes so far but I found two bits either extremely interesting or great to watch.
The 'great to watch' bit was the learner woman driver who not only passed her test so she could drive the buses like her father but also get to ride the type of vehicle (Routemasters) he regularly drove - I was pleased she achieved both aims.
The interesting bit was what 'snoggle' mentioned regarding Boris saying that the NBfL was in every way better than the Routemaster because it doesn't have the 'glug glug' engine or vibrate madly - I suppose air-con doesn't count - at least with a Routemaster, you could cool down by winding down the windows!!!

Hey diddle diddle and all that............... I have now watched it on iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b036pgym/The_Route_Masters_Running_Londons_Roads_On_the_Buses/Very awesome programme, the Heritage RM's got featured. Also shown that the bell on the Heritage RM's which are not working. Well done to the mechanic at the Westbourne Park garage, he really done an awesome job keeping the precious Routemasters on the road. I am glad that the NBFL have blinds which features places worldwide. But I thought the International Regulations does not fit the bus because of the Open Platform. But they are wrong. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNtg7fwsPiAThey are in America and Europe, probably Asia soon. Nice to see the NBFL's manufacturing plant in Northern Ireland, I think Ulster Bus deserve to order some for their area. I am very glad that the NBFL got featured. Well done to the lot. Happy days!!!
