snoggle first we don,t use Leyton high road to run out of service to Walthamstow we use Markhouse road. second I drive the 58 route so i know it does take 10 to 12 minutes max to get from lea interchange to Walthamstow because i do it must days and no the bus don,t need have wings. and we run out of service to and from Walthamstow either early mornings or in the evenings. if you still have doubts about it i am willing to give a ride on my bus from walthamstow to L I when ever you want then you may believe me

At peak times Markhouse Road can get a bit sticky but I guess there are not many light runs at those times. Thanks for the offer of a ride but I wouldn't want to get you into trouble for carrying passengers on light runs. Returning to the subject of the 34 there would still be a need for light runs to / from Barnet which is a long trek from LI which must affect the ability of Tower Transit to compete effectively against Arriva or Go Ahead who have garages closer to the line of route and a bit nearer each terminus. I'd argue that Metroline would have a similar handicap if they were to bid based on running from Potters Bar - close to Barnet but not close to Walthamstow even if they did try to use the North Circular or M25 to speed things up. As ever we shall find out in due course.

I'm hopeful that 34 will get new hybrids with its new contract. It goes a lot of traffic hotspots and on the North Circular which should justify the use of hybrids.

I'm hopeful that 34 will get new hybrids with its new contract. It goes a lot of traffic hotspots and on the North Circular which should justify the use of hybrids. Or it could possibly get Existing DWs from route 38 if the route is to be converted to NB4L.

It would be nice if Arriva could introduce the E400H into their fleet.

Unfortunately, and it's a big unfortunately (everyone knows my stance on older buses), they won't be retained for the 34 regardless of retention or new award.

Hi guys does anyone know when the 34 tender will be anouncened i know its this month. No one knows exactly. Unlike some organisations that have an announcement date and time specified in advance, TfL is indicative, it might not even be February. Although tranches are submitted most weeks, the results don't come out with that frequency, TfL often group up results and may delay some routes, or give quick answers on others. Could be tomorrow, could be a 3 or 4 weeks time, just have to wait and see.
