Wasn't sure whether to reply to the current Streetdeck thread or start a new one... The Buses Magazine Facebook page has images of the new restyled Wright Streetdeck, also with news that Brighton and Hove has ordered 25 of them. For those who have facebook: www.facebook.com/busesmagazineTo be honest, I'm not quite sure what to make of it- I'm not sure if it's hit every branch on its way down from the ugly tree or if it's something that'll grow on me

Wrights have finally moved away from the "Nokia" style design bus which has barely changed in about 12 years apart for some "blink and you miss it" facelifts.
The sides and back appear to be largely carried over from the Gemini 3.
I hate the huge clumsy looking pillars on either side of the front destination screen leading up to the roof. They could have been made sleeker and narrower.
The U shaped windscreen bottom looks remarkably like the one off the E400 MMC just a bit more pronounced.
Interested to a see a recessed windscreen top rather than sitting flush with the body. Reminds me of buses from the 80s and early 90s like the ECW Olympian.
The design isn't as fluid as the current Gemini series (or IMO the brilliantly styled original Enviro 400). I don't like it because of the jagged appearance of the front and those upper pillars - really ugly. I'm not a fan of the Enviro400 MMC but would easily chose it over this.
PS - As one person has already noted on Facebook, I too am intrigued by the Handybus in the background!

It looks a bit too angular for my liking. Not a fan of the pillars either. The whole thing reminds me of an OmniDekka/NBfL hybrid!! Doesn't help that the OmniDekka is one of London's ugliest bus types (though I still like these buses anyway)
The bottom though is great. The Wrightbus logo looks sleek!

I have to say, they've made it even worse than the B5TL demonstrator Lothian had - wonder if 'Serverking' still wants some in Tottenham lool.

I think he may need counselling now the revised design has emerged. Interesting that the sketches show a West Midlands Travel route on the destination panel. I wonder if they have ordered some?

And I thought the street**ite was ugly !!!!. At the end of the day all that operators want is a reliable bus if they manage that the operators will be happy.

It doesnt look too bad, i actually like the lower front end look. I imagine Wrights will sell the Streetdeck and Gemini 3 alongside each other?
[EDIT] from the inbuild picture the front light cluster/corner bumper appears to be one piece that must be costly to replace.

I think they could take a demonstrator, given that it was the first operator of the Enviro400 and OmniCity double deck in the UK, and has a fair size of 'VWLs' (140 of them) plus they still order B7RLEs. That said though, they've signed a deal with ADL for buses until 2018.

The glass in the staircase is a pointless feature... Overall the bus looks ugly

I think it's just for the drawing, similar to most Optate drawings had 'Leeds City Centre' on the destination displays

It's striking that's for sure but a bit too angular for my liking, it could've been more streamlined. It's alright though.

(gets coat) Very blocky design, looks like Gemini 3S' Halloween costume... a very different bus will be unveiled at the Expo, I hope... Apparently First Yorkshire are buying them too... I'm sure Arriva will follow suit, along with Stagecoach as it's Voith I may need counselling snoggle, what's with all the glass at the side, and in some of the pictures, what appears to be a sunroof on the upper deck?
