487 is now down to 1 bus running. I wouldn't want to be that that driver.

Yes I noticed that, the VWs make a nice change from the usual DEs, wish the VWs was permanent and now there is just two running. Were did the other drivers go?

Out and about today, definitely more buses around. Though I mainly used trains today, I didn't have to wait too long for a 472 from Woolwich to Charlton, nor my 422 home tonight (E232, with a very cheerful driver behind the wheel).
Whatever your feelings about the strike, whether you're a ryan, or a smoothcriminal or a sid, or whoever you are, as a plain old boring commuter today, I'd like to thank those drivers who did turn out to work today. In my opinion, they deserve our utmost respect.

I don't agree with driver,s been abusive to the fellow colleague because he or she didn't strike but when we drivers get a pay rise out of this, then the drivers who did not strike should not get a pay rise because they seem to be happy with their pay and t&c, before anyone saying that the driver,s who worked because of their financial situation believe me we are all the same more or less, This is what I don't get when I hear drivers saying 'oh I can't afford to lose a days pay' that just proves the wages are sh*te that or they're living beyond their means. It's not really difficult to prepare for a strike day anyway just put your name down for a rest day and you've lost no money. For me losing a days pay is less stress than I would have being a hero and driving say one 86 out of 10 on the route and the stress with loadings and extra traffic that and the fact you don't get anything extra from the company I'd rather man the picket. I fully agree with you.

At this time (2200) during the last strike, Route 185 had finished for the night. Currently six buses are still in operation, although two of these are operating to East Dulwich.

Unite and GAL's MD John Trayner having a 'discussion' on BBC London this evening. youtu.be/j337VfXxzXYCompetition Law Well does not surprise me. I doubt Unite will have much success getting all Operators to Sit Down and talk which is what they want. If these strikes continue with no change for the demands, I can see strikes becoming no disruption and full services running. A lot more buses running down my area today.

TBH, I have not seen any unite spokesman who has put the point across clearly.

Fares go up every year. Operators profits go up every year. New drivers money goes down every year.
How on earth is that fair?

Do bus companies get fined for non running buses due to strike action?
