EL1 -> 369 EL2 -> 373 EL3 -> 387 Proposed EL4 -> 495 Ideally you'd have numbered the EL2 "378" as it slots halfway between 369 and 387, the old numbers, but obviously the Putney to Mortlake route grabbed it first! Although I'm torn on whether the "EL" routes should have dedicated number rather than conventional. I think the bus priority measures you see on the ELT routes should be the norm across London as much as possible, and therefore not *special* like they are over there. The 495 number is already set aside for a new route over in Southall expected to launch next year

I think I’ve said here before that I don’t really like letter prefixes, ‘N’ excepted, and if money was no object and I had the power to do so, I’d open up the 500 series of numbers and renumber the whole blooming lot of them! Ditto bunging the SLs into a 700 series. But I totally appreciate this is just me, and doing such a thing would be a horrendous waste of money, time and resources!

I personally think they might as well do away with the special branding on the ELT buses when they are refurbished. There is nothing special about the ELT routes over a conventional route. Keep the numbers as that would be a waste to spend money renumber them! Having said that I really am not a fan of two letter and a number as I think it looks odd. Even the SL routes don’t sit right with me. I much prefer a single letter like X or D for example.

Bus Route 13 should be re-numbered back to 82 Bus Route 113 should be numbered as 13 Bus Route N113 should be numbered as N13
The same way bus route 332 was numbered as 16

Route 60 should be renumbered 190 (which the main route to Old Coulsdon used to be) Route 190 should be renumbered 290 (which that Hammersmith - Richmond link used to be) Route 290 should be renumbered 90 (which Richmond - Twickenham - Staines used to be) Route 90 ought to be renumbered 90B as before, but as such suffixes are no longer in fashion the number 390 will do Route 390 should be renumbered 10 (which the Archway - King's Cross - Marble Arch link used to be)
