Lewisham Centre Bus Stop U & V both have N199 tiles, this will cause confusion, resulting in people missing their bus because of standing at the wrong stop. Oh dear. Another rush job done late and not done properly.

No wonder there have been so many past errors, I thought It was TFL who fitted them. I've come across incorrect tiles on bus stop many times. Near Crystal Palace on that Hill there was don't know if still there a N91 Tile. The bus stop Longbridge Way for the 181 & 225, when installed had a 412 tile stating towards Selsdon. Bus Stop Elmfied Road / The Glades Still has a N47 tile. Gordombrock School Brockley Cemetery had a P3 tile, now changed to P4 Many more lol

It's been like that since they swapped the bus stops around a while back.

I can think of several other related reasons why things have gone so badly pear shaped in recent months but regrettably I can't prove that my thoughts are right. Contractors only do what they are told. If they are not told in sufficient time or in sufficient detail then mistakes are made. This is just Surface Transport's version of what happened with all those botched signs on the London Overground.

Oh dear......................a phrase about drinking sessions and breweries comes to mind Bit like the situation that existed in Kingston for years where the night 65 tile was on one stop and the 24 hour 65 on the other, luckily they were only about 2 bus lengths apart. Might not be a contractor error, their instructions may have asked for it. This is what happens when you dont employ your own staff that are empowered to use common sence. Simple lack of joined up thinking. My favourite example of lack of thinking is the stop on A316 where kerb was modified for wheelchairs even though the stop is on a flyover and can only be reached by stairs from the street (and its only served by one route so no wheelchair user will change buses there either).

No timetable for N199 at any bus stops that i see in Bromley Area. Plus no timetable is online at TfL. I had ready email them and they promise it on the way. VERY poor control service from TfL team at the moment. Not good!

I know, I have not bothered reporting it, tbh I don't see the point of that stop having a countdown screen either when all the buses stopping their terminate at Lewisham, Shopping Centre. In addition many bus stops that were listed to gain countdown screens on a TFL document I read did not get them...

Oh I'm not underestimating the role. For once I am being a bit boastful about my own capabilities and track record - not something I do very often. Any job has its challenges but I've done plenty of interesting stuff over the years and I scored very near the top end of the distribution on verbal and numerical reasoning when assessed at the next management level up. The assessors were rather gobsmacked that I got the scores I did as they're pretty exceptional. I don't have much issue with numbers and being able to identify what they may be saying (depending on other sources of info / detail / correlation, of course, if you want a wider understanding). Bus journeys don't increase for the sake of it - there are other factors in play. Do I assume, given your positive write up, that this is what you do / did for a living in between driving buses? Yes, I did a placement there not so long ago. Undoubtedly the best thing about the course I studied! If you are thinking of applying, good luck - it's a great place to be!

TfL would never have me back. I was only half joking about alarm bells going off in Palestra. I also think I'd be stupid to go back to work with TfL - it's a very different place nowadays and I expect the organisation is going to come under enormous financial / efficiency pressure which will mean many more job cuts.

Interesting comment spotted in the latest Commissioner's Report.
Noteworthy that the N91 and night 94 are "stayed" in terms of their frequency reductions pending a review but all the other plans will proceed. I've never seen a Commissioner's Report pre-empt the release of a Consultation update before.
