This is the sort of thing that annoys me. Had I been there, I would of complained blah blah. And as it wasn't you being refused travel then it would have gone in the bin. The drivers well within his rights to refuse travel if he sees a valid reason. Would you have the same opinion if it was a homeless person stinking out the bus ? Or a drunk that's spilled his latest fix over himself. ? I've refused travel to all of the above. I've also refused to carry a chav that thought he could get on with no top. Because nobody should have to sit next to some sweaty body with no top on nor should they have to put up with stinking takeaways. Regardless of sex. It's called respect. Now why the complaining part annoys me... Go-ahead have a policy of cctv downloads on all complaints. Regardless of what the complaint is. A little while back a disgruntled passenger that got refused travel because he was using a out of date ticket put in a false complaint about the drivers driving. They couldn't find the alleged offence so no action taken. But he got a written warning for biting his nails which they found by accident. I think the driver was in the wrong here, even if he didn't like the smell he shouldn't have kicked her off. Had I actually been on the bus I would have reported the driver and I would think TFL would have probably had the company to have a word with the driver because nobody would have known if she'd leave the box on the bus, most people do actually end up taking their rubbish with them and it's just a minority that do this.

Whilst anybody is entitled to put in a complaint if they wish I don't see that the driver has done anything wrong. I'd say you were right to refuse the topless chav travel, if he had entered a shop like that he would probably be asked to leave, as you say it's all about respect.
