Another go at trying to "improve" / "modify" Camberwell Green Junction and surrounding roads. This time consultation is being carried out by TfL. Consultation web page
Once again not sure who this scheme benefits as pedestrians still have two stage crossings, cyclist still do not have there much desired segregation, buses have separate stops. At least this time, the southbound Camberwell Green stops on Denmark Hill will still to be together and the 185 & 484 won't need to run via Medlar Street to reach Denmark Hill.

Yep. Looks like a complete waste of time to me. Cycle lobby groups will be fed up as there are no segregated cycle lanes. It's unclear how pedestrians benefit given little is being done to pavements and crossing other than a spot of widening. Bus passengers heading north will have their stop split north of Camberwell Green. TfL can even get the bus service direction labels correct for some of the bus stops on the plan. Not sure how buses heading north or west can possibly be going to Peckham. The impact of bus journey times is horrendous in the AM peak. Some routes taking up to 2 minutes longer! I thought buses were supposed to be being speeded up and made more reliable. This scheme just makes them worse. If they do this work at the same time as Vauxhall gyratory then heaven help South London bus passengers. So many routes will be screwed as a consequence of the delays and disruption.

However it sounds like a crossing in front of Butterfly Walk will separate southbound bus stops on Denmark hill in the future. I have not seen plans for this but i have a strong feeling Orpheus Street is going to be closed at the point with denmark hill with the 148 being shunted to stand somewhere else
