Sorry to hijack the tread - I want to upgrade this weekend. I am torn between the Iphone 6 and 6s! I want to save a bit of money by going with the 6 but worried I am signing up to a year old phone on a two year contract but the savings are big over two years. Is there much difference between the two? Help!! : ) The only noticeable differences between the 6 and 6s is the 6s is slightly faster and has a 12mp camera with 4K video whereas the 6 has a 8mp camera with no 4K video. I got my 6 on contract about 1-2 months after it came out and I can't fault it - I'm just jealous about the 6s 12mp camera lol.

However it is still pretty fast. Both phones are 4G so the data signal should be the same on both of them which isn't a big issue. They both come with the slightly shambolic iOS 9 however the good thing about Apple is that they should keep on releasing updated for both phones for the foreseeable future.

I've had to borrow my mum my old iPhone 5 today as she had to send her crappy Samsung off for repair - Samsung phones are just riddled with problems judging by speaking to family and friends who have owned or been in constant contact with one - quite strange considering other Samsung products are really good like the 32 inch TV I got in last years Black Friday sale lol.

Funny thing is I am a big open source fan and use Linux daily but Android is just not as slick as ios. My HTC one as been on the way for the last year.

I haven't heard good things about Samsung's build quality. Somebody I know is really fussy over fit and finish, and he hasn't been 100% happy with any of his Samsung phones, lol. Samsung's other electronic products aren't that great either. A lot of their TVs suffer with power supply issues early in their lifespan, basically because Samsung used cheap components. My brother and I have Samsung LCD TVs, his has missing columns on the panel, and mine has a massive mark in the corner where it looks like it got a little bit too hot. Samsung...

My TV is basically a year old next Friday and so far, has been excellent. My brothers Samsung TV is about a year to two years older and has had no issues though I can't remember if our TV's are LED or LCD.

My phone really does feel very nice and sleek and doesn't feel cheap at all. Samsung also do make parts for Apple phones so inside they will be using similar hardware.

The S6 hardware quality is a lot better than their previous offerings, that's for sure! The whole '3D Touch' thing is just a gimmick really. Android has had a similar function for years now. That's CrApple for you If you want a well manufactured phone with a user experience that's not too 'in your face' (like Samsung's TouchWiz is) then I'd say go for the Xperia series. Great build quality, great aesthetic design, and a great user experience that's similar to Stock Android (like the Nexus series) but offers added features on top. Camera quality is amazing also. My Xperia Z2 has a 20.7MP camera that I use for my Flickr photos.

The difference being that you be will able to use the 3D Touch software on a solid working phone as apposed to using it on a Samsung that's inflicted with issues a plenty. Sony phones do seem solid TBH in all departments and I believe they are getting popular again though I wonder if they'll be as popular as the Sony Erricson 'walkman' phones - they were very popular and I always wanted one at the time but sadly never owned one.

On my 2nd Sony. The whole family has a Sony Xperia of some type. Hate IPhone and won't ever touch another Samsung. They always feel overloaded with Samsung apps

Hehe, I like how you put Walkman in quotes. I had a few Walkman phones, and they didn't sound all that great to me. I did like how you could use whatever headphones you wanted or even connect it to a stereo, but even then only with the adapter. I always preferred Nokia phones way back when. I could take some pretty decent photos with my Nokia 6230i, and music sounded great on it. I still have a Sony Ericsson W810i in white. I use it as a torch, lol.

I had a Nokia 6230i in black for a few years - apart from the battery eventually failing, it was a decent phone.

The batteries in those older Nokia phones are excellent. Battery technology is a bit finicky though, so there's always exceptions. I had the black one too ...and the silver one, and the burgundy one, and the gold one... I even used a 2GB micro SD card in mine. I cut the splines off a micro SD > normal SD adapter and stuck it in the MMC memory card slot. Imagine my surprise when it actually worked. Another great phone from back then was the Nokia 6300. One of my friends had one that'd been run over by a car. It was curved! But didn't work. Would've been funny if it did.
