Sorry to dig this up. A week to go, and we’re finally getting notices at bus stops. In this case, Waterloo. {Picture removed to save server space} However — at Holborn, nothing. Call me a pedantic prude, but the advertising of increased frequencies on the new route 1 is a white lie. Only the section between Bricklayers Arms and Canada Water is getting a marginal increase. On the positive side, I have been informing my friends who live in the Surrey Quays area about the 1's extension and surprisingly getting positive feedback from it. I suspect Canada Water- Camden journeys will be very popular with punters, particularly during the evenings. It should help the Jubilee and Northern via London Bridge if passengers choose to use the 1 rather than the tube.

The 194 curtailment was actually worse for those of us who used it to get to Bell Green from Forest Hill. That section of route is now served by the 356 with lower frequencies.

Routes 176 and 197 are diverted between Sydenham and Penge via Penge East station due to a RTC in Penge High Street.

I think Arriva have a single route in Lewisham, Route 202 in a borough dominated by Stagecoach and Go Ahead. Abellio also have the 484 in the borough.
If you split Arriva down to the North and South subsidiaries, Route 78 is the main Arriva London North route that goes the furthest south in Southwark to Nunhead which means it'll be I think the most affected by Arriva's strike next week in South London.

Due to emergency works in London Road, Forest Hill, routes 176 and 197 are diverted from Lordship Lane/Wood Vale to Sydenham The Woodman via Sydenham Hill and Kirkdale. I saw a 185 coming up Kirkdale and down Sydenham Hill too There was a 185 (WVL) standing in Sydenham Hill waiting to go back to Victoria at 1740. But the vast majority of 185s were serving London Road, along with the 356 and P4. Also I think there were short turns on the 185 to Forest Hill which terminated at Lordship Lane/Wood Vale as I saw one going up the hill which then turned back at the top to park in Lordship Lane.

They're only going to stop once in Ilford surely. The X26 serves multiple stops in Croydon, I think the X140 does the same in Hayes too but can't remember about that particular one Two stops. West Croydon Bus Station towards Heathrow/Delta Point from Heathrow and Dingwall Road/East Croydon Station to Heathrow/East Croydon Station towards West Croydon.

I hope the Superloop route for Bromley to Croydon isn't the 119, but something more like the old 726.

There was an occasion a couple of years back on a bus I was on where a driver parked at the bus stand mid-route to use the toilet provided at a stand.
Another time a driver ordered a Chinese take-away where one of the staff waited outside the bus stop and the driver collected his food, also mid-route.

Definitely not local but in my view this proposal is not too bad, but bad optics in the sphere of the promised increased investment for outer London services. I assume Clay Tye Road residents won't like this news, is this going to be Maypole Bo-peep esque where they tell passengers to walk down country lanes instead? Clay Tye Road is served by non-TFL route 269 (Brentwood to Grays via Ockendon), so it wouldn't matter too much. Bar those passengers who'll have to rely on a route that could be withdrawn for commercial reasons, as well as higher fares.

As passenger numbers continue to grow, It will be interesting to see what is done at Whitechapel in terms of overcrowding. In comparison to other stations, it can often feel quite crowded already during the peak hours. The one bank of escalators and one pair of exit tunnels from platform A&B, are not ideal. It would have been good to have two exit tunnels to the one set of escalators but here we are I guess. The other issue with Whitechapel is that exiting passengers and passengers interchanging lines all have to leave via the same route. It is possible that Whitechapel is proving more popular than anticipated, especially given that passenger numbers and revenue on the line as a whole are considerably above expectations. Passengers needing to change between the Reading/Heathrow-Abbey Wood and Paddington-Shenfield services have been encouraged to do so at Whitechapel as passenger numbers on the platforms are generally lower than at other Central Core stations. Clearly come next May with the full timetable in operation there will be less need to do this. I walk to the far end of the eastbound platform and use the lifts to access the Overground platforms which seems to be a hidden secret for most passengers who use the station.

The countdown screens will likely be installed at a later date. The new shelter at Wimbledon didn’t have one for a couple of weeks and neither did the newest ones in Sutton when first installed. Now they all have them. Although they should be installed the same day for passenger convenience. This isn’t always the case - my local stop had a new shelter put in and to this day, it still hasn’t regained its countdown screen and we talking 2-3 years now Penge Pawleyne Arms northbound stop also lost their countdown board when it was moved from the junction of Croydon Road and High Street to next to the 176 bus stand.

Warm spell over the weekend, up to 14 temperatures halve on Tuesday ahead of next Arctic blast That is perfect weather for burst water mains. These next few days with temperature up & downs is going to be fun....not! Which is why the 363 and P13 are once again on diversion because of a burst water main on Underhill Road.

I think the 133 idea is just ridiculous although I think rerouting the 3 to Victoria makes sense. In what way does re-routing the 3 to Victoria make sense? Anyone coming from Brixton & further south will switch to the Victoria Line or use the 2 which is more direct, Oval has 2 routes in the 36 & 185 and those in between are unlikely to want Victoria as a specific destination given most head towards Vauxhall for the tube or use buses or tubes to go north or southwards. It ensures Horseferry Road continues to have a bus service after the 507 is axed. See also the re-routing of the C10 in Lambeth. One small advantage of the re-routing of the 3 mirrors the Southeastern train service to Victoria from West Dulwich and Herne Hill. It also helps residents of the Kingswood Estate who use Sydenham Hill station if the trains aren't working. Victoria IMHO is a better place for the 3 to go to than Whitehall since it was cut back from Oxford Circus.
