Took a few snaps at work today mainly of the refurbishment centre at V. Quite nice to have a look around. It may be worth noting VLE14 and 16 have joined the United Transit fleet and will be used on the Kingston Uni Shuttle services. Are all of LSs DEs being fully refurbed?

Are ADL going to continue producing Hybrid E200's (e.g. the HDE's at RATP) now that an all-electric E200 is available (e.g. the SEe's at GAL)? Good question, I suspect they are just sitting in the line up for completeness. The brochure is very out of date and no-one seems to order them so probably be quietly dropped. The E350H sold a few, but not the smaller E200H in recent years They have just launched a 10.8m version of the ADL-BYD electric and announced other lengths will follow, so looks like this is expected to be the future, not a small hybrid. The five HDEs were ordered in 2008, and were delivered Spring 2009, ahead of 371 contract change. None have yet been refurbished and one hasn't been used for 5 months. Will be interesting to see if when they get done, they change from existing euroIV. As some of the new E200MMCs have start-stop, I dont think ADl would male single decked hybrids

Indeed, from the images I've seen it looks like it collided with a car which was coming out of St. George's car park in Harrow. On its second day too Any pictures for me to see? Ive heard thats quite a dangerous spot for buses because cars just steam out of the turnstiles. VWH2192 was in service this morning on the 140 according to LVF

According to lvf, VWH2192 of HD has been involved in some kind of accident. The DEs for SO also need to be refurbished so we may see the DPSs stay for longer? Do you think more buses will transfer over to SO when the temporary routes 5xx cease operating? There are quite a lot of buses to refurbish, effectively DE22-56 (the 7 year old ones), all the HDEs and nearly 100 SPs Majority for contract renewals, but SP16-37 because over 8 years old and getting bit tatty. Temporary 5xx routes finished 3rd September DE36 & DE51-55 have been refurbed at SO

Fleet update : Harrow now has following enviro200s : DE 21, 33, 35, 36, 39, 45, 46 Harrow still using Pointer Darts : DPS 628, 633, 634, 635, 636, 637, 651, 664 Plan is to swap the route 72 fleet (new contract has just started, but route is now operating without its allocated hybrid double decks due to continuing delays to strengthening Hammersmith bridge), whereas Harrow contract does not have fleet limitations so should be getting its allocated buses (the DEs used on 72 until contract expired 10 days ago) Still no word on route 72, rumour is that bridge strengthening will not be until summer 2017 I understand that officially the 72 temporary position is only until 31st December (presumably will be extended) The DEs for SO also need to be refurbished so we may see the DPSs stay for longer? Do you think more buses will transfer over to SO when the temporary routes 5xx cease operating?

Doing this journey today, it did not help ease congestion on the H14, buses along the route are 6-8 minutes apart and this timetable slot reduces the gap to 3 minutes. Funnily the journey time for this bus was quicker than the H14 of 0739 because the bus ran mostly empty throughout the journey. RATP and TFL, keep the original timetable and run the H14 from BT with the new VHs. This would let the DPSs move to the 72 or be withdrawn! Couldn't have said it better myself! I hope they still do have plans to make the route entirely double decker. My H14 visual: youtu.be/zBrHY21NHbU does show the H14 missing quite a few stops at the beginning and gets used later down the line, this is opposite to what I experienced two days before. This allowed for the H14 behind to arrive at Northwick Park at the same time as the VH. If they keep the current timetable and use a few Mark 2 VHs at the correct times then overcrowding would be resolved. But this is unlikely without a change in timetable.

One Step Closer by Lewis J.N., on Flickr For those who want visual proof, here it is I checked LVF in the morning and there were 9 DEs, thats the PVR though. Indeed, this double decker is scheduled as an extra and simply adds on top of what the H14 already has, not a substitute for anything. It is only a single half-rounder after all! Doing this journey today, it did not help ease congestion on the H14, buses along the route are 6-8 minutes apart and this timetable slot reduces the gap to 3 minutes. VH10 did the H14 honours this morning, black blank showing on the blinds with a little note in the front/side windows (made 4 of them with the VHs on 618/619 - would be nice if they put out blinded buses!). Nothing on LVF so far but the working may not be on the system yet - or something, I'm not one to talk about this stuff because I've no real idea what's involved! Safe to say however that the information was indeed correct and we now have one double decker H14. I checked LVF in the morning and there were 9 DEs, thats the PVR though.

Some more duties and buses will be moving to BT soon. And remember H14 drivers have not been type trained on the VLEs or SPs so dont expect a DD working soon on the H14 So why weren't the H14 drivers type trained on the SPs or VLEs before 5 September 2016? There was no official date on the Double Decking of the H14. I still dont know the outcome of the H14 Double Deck test with the VH.
