W4 were having issues yesterday and many where terminating at Wood Green, Wolves Lane or Tottenham, Philip Lane. There was only one bus between Wood Green and Oakthorpe Park for about 45 minutes and it was on stand for a long time at Oakthorpe Park. When it finally came out, it changed its destination from Tottenham Ferry Lane to Tottenham Philip Lane after just three stops. Clearly there was never any intention to go the full route, so I assume there is a technical (ibus) reason for amending the destination on route instead of at the start of the journey? Severe delays due to temporary traffic lights at roadworks in Wood Green and Oakthorpe Park area. Almost 40 minutes being lost. That bus I believe was held for a reduced service. Eventually the roadworks were gone.

Driving them was good, the boost the turbo gave in kickdown was astranomical, although turbo lag was felt a lot from standstill, especially with the 3 speed Votih. The ones on the 67 were not Euro2. The Euro2 TN's were the T reg and V reg ones new to the 25. I had some very good drives of Euro 2 Voith box TA's and did leave non First examples for dust. The First London T and V reg were remapped and remember Leon Daniels mentioning this on the other group years ago because of the slowness from rest. The TNs on the 67 were indeed euro 2 as some were displaced from the 258 in 2006 and some were also from the 27 batch as well. Unless you're referring to the stagecoach batch which were euro 3 that was displaced from the 86 I forgot, I forgot Stagecoach had a tenure on the 67 as well

Only been 4 EVs out on the 174s today! Usually it is only Diesels out at night. Any idea when there will be a full EV run out? I could see it continuing like this until the other RM routes are tendered (252, 365 etc) where new buses will be needed. That is nothing new. 174 constantly has E400's running in the evening and virtually no electrics. 173 at times during the day has E400's standing in as subs and in the evenings. 173 is better than 174 for full electric allocation.

You cannot compare running buses to eating in a restaurant… why Because it is like comparing apples and oranges.

Interesting you say about finding the Euro 2 Tridents boring in the past, honestly found them to be the best buses I’ve ever ridden and never found them boring. I think personally the voith versions of the euro 2 was a drab. The ones I did like were the ones that had a whistle on it from the voith version. Now the zf I actually liked them especially those that had the slipped gears. I did like them on the 67 especially when I had to take that bus from Aldgate to Stoke Newington around 2007-08 Driving them was good, the boost the turbo gave in kickdown was astranomical, although turbo lag was felt a lot from standstill, especially with the 3 speed Votih. The ones on the 67 were not Euro2. The Euro2 TN's were the T reg and V reg ones new to the 25. I had some very good drives of Euro 2 Voith box TA's and did leave non First examples for dust. I have to agree. Many visitors just want to ride on a red London bus. This was why the 15H route failed. And this is what annoys me. So say back 20 years ago when we still had around 1000 routemasters on the road, visitors from all over would come and want to ride an RM. Just like many go to New York and want to ride yellow cab etc. Nowadays, what? Get the same boring bus types we're lumbered with now as anywhere else in the country but just because it's red people want to jump on? Really? "Oh look red bus, let's get on. Oh look, same bus operator moquette as our ones up north, far south" (Arriva, Go-Ahead), Stagecoach) .... barring the few with old school London Bus moquettes. This service needs to be promoted hard and needs to be successful so people from all over the work and country can enjoy them as much as we did when they were in frequent public service. Those buses are iconic and showed London how buses used to be and not now. This is a myth circulated by enthusiasts. It is more the case of a "red double decker" or as the Americans call a two storey bus. The majority did NOT know what a Routemaster was, the same way the majority of the UK public could not tell a RT from an RM. I have seen it many times in various press any rear platform; front engined double decker described as Routemasters. Over the years driving a standard low floor double decker heard described as a Routemaster by tourists and even tour guides.

With ES48 now entering service, the 417 now has a full ES allocation(on paper at least) compromising of ES29-30, 32, 38-39, 41-45, 47-48 & 50. This is unless the three earlier ESs are not allocated to the 417 but to the 50 or 133. I wouldn’t read anymore into it other than that’s probably how they came out of storage, no point doing a huge Tetris game if ES40/46/9 are boxed in. There’s ample time to get everything in the right place when they all enter service on the 64 Some more have been delivered to [EC] for check over pending transfer to [TH]

“track fault”, nothing more specific - service suspension until 07.50 defective train Paddington, service suspended 0950-1010 defective train Paddington, service suspended 19.37-20.07 I’m now stuck on the Lizzie Line outside Paddington. Not moved for ages. Was this thing just opened too early? The train in front of us is stuck at Paddington with problems. No it was not opened too early. The problems are mainly because of the crap signalling etc on the western side. This is one of the lines biggest downfalls.

Well that would be IMPOSSIBLE. As the T's that are at [DX] are NOT the older type that had the split nearside blindbox. All the ones of the 60 reg has an all in one nearside blindbox. The older ones that were from the 38/242 contract of 59 reg that are now in South London had the split nearside blindbox. Unless you mean the DW's as all non WTA DW's had the split nearside blindbox which this is capable of being done. The front blinds NOT near side where this actually is possible unless I can’t see what’s right in front of me. Wasn’t a dig at Arriva just pointing out an observation as noticed a few Ts like it. 175s DWs seems fine bar one though. Was wondering if DX was having issues with them as I’ve noticed it quite a bit as of late. Nothing wrong with the blindsets on those T's AFAIK. Down to certain individuals. Just report it via London Buses and it will be dealt with.

Noticed a few Ts today on the 150 displaying the wrong blinds. One saying ‘150 Romford, Parkside Avenue’ another blinded for the 175 to Chigwell Row and another 150 Barking Harts Lane’ are there issues arm with the blinds Well that would be IMPOSSIBLE. As the T's that are at [DX] are NOT the older type that had the split nearside blindbox. All the ones of the 60 reg has an all in one nearside blindbox. The older ones that were from the 38/242 contract of 59 reg that are now in South London had the split nearside blindbox. Is this to accomodate the SL1 with whatever buses it will use? Looking forward to riding a DW on the 329 😎 I think most likely, I’d like to see some DW strays as well as a HA. Not sure if WN have 329 on their blind set? The DW's do not have 329 on the blinds.

Route 329 would be transferring from [AD] to [WN] on Saturday 9th December No more T’s at AD then, also looks like SW1 has been withdrawn from service as well SW1 is still at [AD] like the others bar the four that were loaned to [TH] They are still dedicated rail replacement buses until further notice.

84163-72 at PD have started appearing with new "I'm an electric bus" decals. Reminds me of this, "I am an IAMS cat"
