E94-E99 were among the first, if not the first buses to have TopoDyn back in 2008. This restricted the rate of acceleration unless going up a steep hill. However I heard E97 being floored away a stop yesterday and it was very evident the TopoDyn had been removed. Have MB/C managed to get this done for the whole batch? I had E268. Sluggish but changing gears at 2100rpm, even going downhill. Was a decent dead run from Swanley to MG, it did eventually reach 60mph but took forever and a day! 2 or 4 of the 61 Reg E400s allocated to the 320 still retain its topodyn and most likely will continue to retain it in order to navigate stock hill. No idea about the older Trident Enviro’s on the route.

It could be that Go-Ahead agreed with TfL to delay the conversion date to even out the age profile of the electric fleet. It might even have been at TfL's request. Is there an official source for the delay to 2022? As far as I'm aware there was just no bus which could meet the milage requirements of the 358 so the conversion was delayed indefinitely. I’m sure the Optare Metrocity EV could do it? Don’t they have slightly better range than the E200 EVs

561, 562 and WVL206 looking abandoned at MG These should of stayed put on the 358 until the new electrics (if they are actually coming) came! Didn’t see the point of them getting withdrawn and just sitting around doing sod all!

Have noticed recently Norwood Garage are now using yellow laminated running numbers with a card slot attached to the ETMs instead of running plates. Noticed this on a few 202s last and just seen this picture of a 450. flic.kr/p/2kJFMVpProud to say that’s my pic 😊 I guess it’s done for easily visibility for drivers when it comes to changeovers etc aha

Just seen a post on the Go Ahead London Facebook Group about the 413 receiving buses already allocated tot he R9/R2/386 (731-733/SE213-216/SENs) can anyone here confirm if this is just bit of tit tat or wether this is an actual plan? I'd assume the buses from he 80 were going to be the buses used for the route?

Its not Euro 6, so it can't be used on normal TfL services (except the school extras). Well that is a shame, SEN38 was a beast! Have to disagree with you there. SEN38 has to be one of the worse out of the novated fleet to even exist. From its time at RR on the 193 to its stints on alot of MB 8.9m routes it has been consistently sluggish and only seems to manage 2 gears before it dies out to nothing. I remember I had it on the R8 once towards biggin hill and it just crawled it along at 20mph on a road that literally requires you to step on it at 40mph! Felt so sorry for the driver with the ammount of traffic that started to build up Progressively until the driver stopped at Biggin Hill Airport to allow the traffic to pass 🤣 So glad to see it go, althought what is being used to replace 170 for the R1 then 🤔

Does anyone know if the 181 extras are running today and what their departures are? If not today what date? Same for the 354 if possible would be really greatful if someone could reply Have seen the following info posted elsewhere:
181: 0740, 0830, 0917 Bell Green to Grove Park 1435, 1556 Grove Park to Catford
354: 0736, 0855 Penge to Bromley 1522 Bromley to Penge
If that is correct it looks as though some buses will work two trips, as there should only be 2 extras on the 181 and 1 on the 354. No idea on start date I'm afraid.
Thank You much appreciated.

Hiya not typed here in a while.
Not sure if anyone will know. Hoping to get pics of the extras on the 181/354/261 would anyone know what direction each of these will do on the morning run and then the afternoon? I know it’ll be around the 7-8am / 3-4pm times just working out what directions the buses will come from.

There was a time when the 136s and 181s were on diversion due to a house on fire on downham way (believe it was near headcorn road) anyways, This was back in late 2011 was in year 7 on my way to school at knights acamedy (terrible school may i add) i usually caught the bus from what it was then called “Bromley Road / The Pond” now “Green Man Community Hub “ found out 10 minutes later buses were on diversion up whitefoot lane right into Northover i literally missed the 181 so walked over to The Tigers Head Stop now Southend Lane an waited for a 136. Anyways, got on an oddly the bus went straight down on its LOR instesd of left on Whitefoot whuch was its diversion route. Part of me was like “has the diversion finished” but still didn’t feel right so i went down politely asked the driver if there was still a diversion, he replies with he didn’t know there was one, i said well the bus stop informed passengers about a diversion due to a fire in downham. He response wss well i’ve not heard anything about a diversion so i’ll be following normal routing. Got to headcorn road stop and right infront was a big blob of smoke. Drivers apologised to ne rang control shut engine and closed all windows strangely also had a can of air freshener. So was stuck on for atleast an hr and 45 mims didn’t mind though got mum to phone up school made it the school day shorter. 😂😂 was also nice to have a quick nap on the old tridents they had on the route for the first time before they were replaced by the E400Classics

Just near enough a year (few months to go) finally managed to upload this video. This was the last day of the R5/R10 at TB which ended with quite a spooky twist. I believe this was the last R10 so Anti Clockwise, the driver had to switch the interior lights off “due to safety precautions” which was quite a surprise to happen with myself and a few others on the day! The trip allowed us all to see the spookey fields of Cudham, Knockholt and Pratts Bottom which was really enjoyable. Could of got a spookey story in but doubt anyone had anything 😂😂😂 oh well if it happens again we’ll be prepared youtu.be/dSwJPn4hxGk

Today @ 1411 @ Brent cross SEe78 LA19KCC was doing route learning. These things lool so weird, they really don't look like 10.2m they look like 9.75, same way the 10.8m versions look like 10.2m. the 9.75m batch for the 100 are going to look even more strange. I thought that at first aswell when i first saw them, but only cause i got so used to telling what length is what by window arrangement 😂😂😂 sounds stupid. You have to think though theoretically they are just 9.9m with just a large over hang or extended back. A normal 10.2m will have a 3L 2R seat layout i’m guessing this will have 2L 2R seat layout. But yh they’ll have a longer back due to motors etc.

Yep. I believe I’m the only one who went from on here. It ran very smoothly, with zero traffic, and was lovely meeting some new people. I also purchased some blinds! The bus is due to stay until the tax runs out, at the end of this month. They are trying to keep it to school routes at the moment, but it isn’t restricted to them No there was others on here who went including a few staff. I was invited to go but sadly couldn't make it due to other circumstances. I attended, was sitting centre back most of the journey. Loved what probs was my last ride on such wonderful buses.

Yh sorry meant MB to BX 😂😂😂 not to do with being full its just due to drivers. I have heard from few 51 drivers at Sidcup it is indeed moving to BX on 22nd June when the 227 moves in. Nothing to do with capacity issues at all it’s due to staffing issues at MB. Would the ENs/WVLs transfer with it then or what?
