Given that the Khan made an announcement and spoke publicly about the opening one day ahead of elections, I think Shapps has a point. Khan and his office could have chosen to stay silent on the matter until after the election and perhaps argued that TfL’s announcement was in the public interest (dubious grounds, I know), but by being involved in the announcement and commenting, this could be considered as soft campaigning. If Johnson did this when he was mayor, the lefties would have been fuming about it. Shapps wants to find out what his department is doing,on another forum it’s said DfT signed off on Khan’s statement.

I noticed at Stratford station yesterday they have peeled off all the signage revealing the Elizabeth line. I would say it is stupid as it is not running properly as yet. Even showing directions to Reading/Heathrow, when in theory you cannot even do that now, even after 24th it means coming off the train etc.

Crossrail into Liverpool Street, then Crossrail to Paddington and then Crossrail to Heathrow or Reading. Awkward yes but very much doable

Anyone know when the working timetable is going to be released?
Also once fully open do we know what trains are going to go past Paddington and what ones are going to terminate at Paddington?

Central Line now has updated Elizabeth Line station line diagrams. Noticed Tottenham Court Road still has some of our date Crossrail signage around the station.

I know Farringdon I will have to go up the Crossrail escalator to the ticket hall through the gates and over the road to the Met ticket hall through the gates and down the stairs to the WB platform. Do we know if Liverpool Street will be easier, I know it is in the same station, but is it an easy transfer, will I have to walk down long passageways to get to the Met Platform?

Farringdon has an entrance at low level to the Thameslink platforms, and you can cross to the Metropolitan from these, not need to exit station and enter the original one across the road. The station also has another exit at other end (in Smithfield - Barbican area), not sure if this has direct access to Barbican platforms Liverpool Street has a long central concourse tunnel, one end goes up to Liverpool Street, the other to Moorgate. Which is actually easier will depend on which existing platform you need as it is between both existing stations, not alongside either.
