463 & 470 both can actually take a decker at a push, fun fact. Indeed as the 463 has one scheduled for the school runs

490: SD-only garage sadly, though decker tube strike extras have been known to run on it in the past 507: look up a picture of an Oly on this I'd pay big money for somebody to replicate this! 463 & 470 both can actually take a decker at a push, fun fact. Not sure if DDs can do the Pools terminus on the 490 - there are lowish trees there, and the DD extras terminated at Richmond Station instead. The normal 463 route passes under a low tree at The Mount; the school DD takes a slightly different route to avoid this tree. It's only a few yards but it still means you can't cover the exact route! I remember travelling on those Olympians on the 507 - the first comment I overheard was "oh dear, this isn't as good as the bendybuses, is it?" RandomBusesGirl could you elaborate on the areas affecting 201, 236 and 251 please so I can check? Don’t need specifics but the general areas would be great so I can investigate. Thanks! 251 restriction is on Lawrence Street, Mill Hill (I think there's a leaning tree trunk somewhere). DD school routes in the area run via Daws Lane instead.

192: TIght turnaround roads at Little Park Gardens, Enfield 234: ? 299: ? I should have been a bit clearer on the 192 - the tight roads are around Fotheringham Road near Bush Hill Park. Little Park Gardens is fine - the terminus is shared with DD routes. 234 - 10.2m Darts used to run without problems, so length is not an issue. I suppose trees round Coppetts Road may need looking at, but otherwise I can't think of any issue. 299 - I was told that the route cannot take longer vehicles than the current 9.6-9.7m SDs because of a tight turn somewhere between Southgate and Cockfosters, although I could never figure out which turn was meant to be the problem.

Thanks. Everything updated, I’m removing the 251 for now because having checked Google maps I can’t see any problems (not to say that none could have developed since) but I need to be certain and the trees I can see don’t look low enough to cause issues from what I see. I’ll put it back on if someone can direct me to something solid.
I’ll have to leave the 299 as a question mark until I have something concrete one way or the other.
234 removed

The 130 has no weight restriction - just the aforementioned low bridge at Norwood Junction. Woodside Bridge was fixed a few years back and the 312 sees double deckers over the bridge quite often. The 255 can't use deckers due to narrow small roads in the Clapham Park area - Radbourne Road in particular. The turn from Old Devonshire Road into Balham High Road is also potentially a possible cause as well due to how tight it is. The 284 doesn't have an obvious one other than the small roads in Ladywell and at Grove Park. With the 284, IIRC it's because of a low bridge in between Catford & Ladywell (not the bridge at Catford but on Bexhill Road). Yes low bridge in Bexhill Road on the 284, I think it has seen a very occasional double decker between Grove Park and Catford.

Right, in just one late evening the list is looking really tidy. I’m surprised how quickly it started to take shape and was only possible due to the excellent contributions by forum members. Thanks so much to all of you who’ve contributed so far and thanks in advance to all future contributions.
Just a slight format change in that there is a break between each hundred series bus route numbers. The aim is to improve ease of pinpointing desired route/s
I plan to do 300 - 999 some time today but will be busy Xmas shopping and sleeping lol so please be patient, I will try my best!
Just a final thing, as the route list increases in size could I ask members not to quote the full thread in your replies, there really is no need as you can state the route number you’re referring to by using the ‘reply’ option... however if you must quote please just use the relevant bit you want to reply to. This will help me not have to scroll so much and also uses less site bandwidth or space (or whatever the technical mumbo jumbo is)

286 due to overhanging trees on Frognal Avenue. (DDs that have run in the past have turned at the roundabout instead) 386 due to tight turns in Kidbrooke.

So peeps, who is going to put me out of my misery on 193, 233 and 299? If worst comes to worst I’ll scrawl through to see what on the routes might cause issues. But would probably have to be Gmaps as I can’t think what sites show such detailed information on the actual requirements for SD routes and locations change and sometimes maps don’t reflect that.
So don’t think I’m being lazy, I’m just picking more knowledgeable brains!

The 39 has low trees in Southfields that prevent it from being double decker - the double decker school route takes a slightly different routing in Southfields avoiding the trees. Ah ha I see one of my routes mentioned, the 130 can't because of the Portland Road low bridge. The loading are quite light also. 484 can't because of trees in the Hilly Fields area. P13 can't because of trees and tight sections on routes 162 does not serve Longlands area, I should know as I live there. The area restricting it is a small section of the Edgebury estate. That's obviously where I meant, Stagecoach used to put an occasional double decker on the 162 but it didn't serve that section.

Those would need some major care! I’ll include 286 It’s not so much the turns that look treacherous for the 386, but no road markings mean cars can park just about anywhere. Probably dangerous for the current buses!

Always assumed the 364 can't be decked due to tight turns in the Meads Lane area, but lo and behold I saw an empty blue Ensignbus DD along there last week. God knows what it was doing there, but 364 definitely needs DDs during school in and out times. 193 - very tight and narrow turns along Newmarket Way and Bevan Way, so no chance of DD there, likewise 499 along Keats Ave and Grange Rd. 462 -no problem 362 possible problems along Grove Rd and Brocket Way 346 problems probably along Moor Lane and the turn into Lexington Way.

I thought the 193 was due to low trees at County Park Estate - Newmarket Way & Bevan Way doesn't look that problematic for deckers?

I'm at a disadvantage to you guys, I'm not clued up on vehicle specifications, but I've been on those 193 small vehicles many times and experienced problems along that part of the route. Drivers having to reverse for hundred yards or so because of oncoming vehicles, having trouble at the bottom of Vaughan Ave for parked cars. That's the main problem, parked cars. I don't recall any low trees at County Park, though I'll look out for them next time I'm there, probably next month.
